So long and thanks for taking the Paladins?

Post by Poet »

Wow,

Ok so I was shocked...I missed the post somewhere...I went to recreate my DCN Character from before the wipe and found out that Paladins are no longer allowed in AO. That is interesting since the website still says all classes allowed in AO. When did this happen and could someone please show me where I missed the info saying it wasn't allowed anymore.

Had to log him in under LA and kill him.

Ancient Ones
Capital: Sleeth
Factional Alliances: Ragnar's Kin
Races: All
Alignments: All
Classes: All
Unique Prestige Class: Red Dragon Disciple
Bind Point Color: Green
Deities: Tempus, Bahamut, Tiamat

A loosely-bound faction consisting of Dragonkin, Yuan-Ti, and other Lizardfolk. While their hatred of non-serpentine creatures is without bounds, they are more than happy to recruit slaves and followers from the planar rifts, with promises of great power and wealth. One of the more fractured factions, the Ancient Ones have locations spread throught the realm, but are somehow able to coordinate attacks with remarkable efficiency and skill. Followers of this faction can expect serious power with serious consequences, but prove yourself to the dragons and they may let you move up the ranks.

Yep - sorry, must have missed posting that in the update when we came out of beta. AO needed their classes limited - I was pushing for more limits, but we all agreed Paladins wouldn't serve slave-mongering dragons. Paladin's and dragons don't exactly have a rosy history together either.

Heh! I see your point. Thanks for the response. Makes sense now, just thought I was losing my mind for a bit.

Hail Tiamat!

Correct. I also thought dragons would consider Barbarians and Rogues particularly beneath them, but I was overruled. :D So, enjoy AO!

Eh, a slave to them is a slave. Most dragons think anyone is below them, that's nothing new. Usually the discrepancy comes in when a certain class has issues with their superiors and their ways.

What? You want to eliminate the half-ogre barbarian/bard/RDD build??

aside from paladins, rangers should be taken out as well.

and druids too, since these forest-oriented characters arent suited to be slaves. we don't even see disciples of such classes running around. its usually fighter or sorceror disciples...

this should make out a balancing force to restrict all factions from certain classes.

I'm not 100% sure I agree w/ the Druid deal, as I'm building mine mainly for the Dragonshape which I find rather fitting...

Well, at this point, it's staying as is. Maybe next wipe we can pull out more classes.
