Don't try this at home...

Post by Uber_Hoser »

OK I play in RK, and my respawn is bound to the Black Hills inn..

So, I figured to take the express back to the inn after id'ing stuff etc etc etc, back at the keep....

So I attacked some of the guards... bigggg mistake..

They killed me.. (lost 200 xp), then I somehow got back up, they killed me again, (lost another 200 xp), then I got back up, then they killed me yet a third time (lost another 200 xp), .. I then hit the power button on my pc to stop this madness.

When I logged back in, I was dead (thank god), and respawned back to the inn.

I don't know if that was a bug or the way they teach you not to attack your own people

No Matter what it was, if you attack your own people, you're intended to become factionless and unable to use the stores in your faction.

Not a good idea to do this, just to respawn. This is also supposed to occur when your buddy from the same faction kills you, so don't get used to using the "respawn express."

The respawn/rekill bug is known and seems to occur a lot when servers are laggy. Make sure you add the info to the current bug report, #702.

From what I understand, the way they planned it, the first time you attack or attempt to disarm someone from your faction, you have some kind of variable set in your database. The second time something would happen, and eventually, your faction would be set as hostile towards you.

This would mean that the only place you could buy stuff would be Avendell, and if you screwed up there, you'd be like Robin Hood, robbing from the rich and keeping it.

That would also mean you'd lose a place to craft.

You're screwed, mate. There's no way to do that, as far as I can tell.

Well, if you haven't actually killed any of them, they should 'forgive and forget' in a while. Try checking their reaction in a day or so.

If you've killed one or more, you may well be in trouble. Have no fear, though, this scenario was brought up during closed, and a solution is in the works... but hasn't been implemented yet. In the meantime, wander to Avendell and base yourself out of there for a while. Besides, they have the best ale this side of Ragnar's Rock.
