Guild Tags

Well heres my tidbit. As far as the guild tags go why doesnt everyone just use a generic brackets like in 3.5 which the ns4 players have been using to identify those that are from ns4. EG- {NS4} {FoN} {DCN} {DD}.
It just might make the coding for the key generator a little easier for the devs to work with.. just a thought.

as was said before, if you just have "kSt" be your tag, then you can put anything you want around it. [kSt] {kSt} /=099kSthhgkuk would all work. no need to restrict people to {}

No, actually - you need something more specific than just kst. Something with some kind of distingishing, consistant brackets around it will be required.

I think. Need to check how we're going to be doing database compares on this. 'kst' is probably going to be too generic - you're going to run into normal names that might have that in there. We're looking for something unique that shouldn't be in there like -KST- or ~\KST/~ [KST] or something.

Yah I had read the 90% of that thread but really wouldnt it just be easier to have the devs just let us know to use a particular set? I was trying to make an idea for ease of developing for the game. uh... if thats possible. Realistically I dont see why the devs just dont say, " OK. This is what we are using."

hehe. well on a more serious note, i am assuming that the toon vault is "happy" ...since nothing has been said otherwise; if not a bit of a heads up would be awesome, so i can spend the rest of my evening on my builder mod and dig up some old notes i have taken

other than that... THANKS to all the Dev's, DM's and of course the most glorious DD for devoting their time and money to restoring the server....hopewully the glorious mayhem can begin again tomorrow afternoon

What does suck is the toon I just got to 16th level will have to be rebuilt since he does not have a standerdized tag and I had not gotten around to giving him a key yet.

maybe we will get lucky, and they wont impliment that system right away (i dont see the immediate urgency -- seeming that we ( the brethren) have yet to submit a final request....

for all we know, the database has been wiped and we will all have new toons; with properly formatted names
