There's currently a sticky thread going on over on Bioware's forums that gives suggestions for PWs. One guys posted for a certain type of PW, and since what he was looking for fit so well, I gave an endorsement for NS4:

what i need: no CEP. both expansions w/ most recent version. haks are fine. i'm playin' on a mac, and that tends to screw up the CEP.
what i'd like: mid level magic, mid level XP (some help at the start is always nice), a good bit of action, but still some RP, no super serious death penalties, not so into extreme rest rules, or eatin' and drinkin', i do particularly like dungeon crawlin', and would like to go at it with a group. i don't have oodles of time though, so it's tough to get in on something too serious. i don't mind item limitations, as the NWN stuff is too good anyway, but i'd like to have all the classes as options. i'm familiar with the Forgotten Realms, so somethin' there would be great, but it doesn't have to be.
Might want to take a look at Neversummer 4. It's found under PW Action, and it should be easy to find, just click on the players tab at the top to get the more popular servers at the top, NS 4 has been filling up a lot recently. It's a no .hak server, so no CEP or anything thing else hak wise to worry about. It's basically medium magic, there's no perma-haste or full immumity items, no massive stacking of bonuses, some spells are toned down a bit, but otherwise it's not heavily nerfed. A good mix of action and RPing, the stoyline features a war between 7 faction for control of the world, and role-playing along these line is encouraged, but not required, but there's also lots of action with the faction conflicts including player vs. player action. Death penatlies are about normal for being killed by monsters and NPCs, pks don't have any penalties unless you're killed in an enemy city. No rest goofiness. Lots of dungeon crawling, and plenty of people to party with. It's not too bad for a casual player. Server uses custom item level restrictions, items are rated for levels 1, 5, 9, 13, 16, 20, 25, and 30, and an unequip is forced if you try to equip an item you don't have enough levels for. Server is based in its own world, but uses a lot of basic D&D/FR assumptions, and the world uses the standard FR gods.

Like I was going to futz with all that at 4:30 in the morning. Besides, BioWare's boards are real wonky anyway, don't even know if they got that fancy stuff.
It's only logical that there would be some sort of plan to move NS to NWN2 seeing as how so much work has been put into it so far.
I think the main thing for/against or how long the move to NWN2 will take is how compatible/easy it will be to port the mod over.
LVL 69 LFGS!!!
The Hasselhoff 4 3v3r!!! Metis n3v3r!!!
I believe coding NS4 in NWN2 would be a very hard task as a port.
It would probably be easier to document all the things in NS4 and rewrite it using the new engine and language extensions, but thats just my thought on it. Some of the new stuff in NWN2 sounds cool, but if they really did work over the NWN script language to fix its shortcomings even a little bit, then it would be eaiser to rewrite most of it.
Did anyone see info on backward compatiable mods? I'll have to go check that again on biowares site.
