Is it safe to delete characters again as of today?

I have searched the forum and found nothing new about this topic -- forgive me if i am oblivius; however i do remember an announcement to not delete a week ago or so ..... so can i go ahead and wipe a character ? A simple yes or no will suffice ... Thanks.

well to be redundant and anwser my own post, i did go ahead and delete a character, and the server did not blow up

good news ! although i am not answering my question in this post, i will leave that to a higher authority...

Just wait till the server gets laggy, then announce a 2 minute warning before deleting

The only problems we have had are with toon names that contain '

If you don't have one of those the deletion system should be working nicely

I made an update today which will go in after next reset.

Apostrophes (') in toon names should no longer cause any problems with the deletion sys.

Also:
Some of you have told me that some char's are stuck on a black screen - this is normal if you logged out in the planar rift and is not a char deletion issue. If you have this I recommend that you use another toon to politely ask a DM to look for you after a relog and to port you to one of the deletion areas

What about characters that have been invalidated? I have a cleric that I would love to see fixed or deleted...

Woo-hoo! I can finally get rid of the toon I have that's been stuck in the rift since I started playing!

will this work for chars that got duplicated into everyones account as a DB bug? or are those chars just SoL?

For the record, I've already deleted one character that was copied to my vault successfully. I think I still have another one that's stuck on the deleter screen. Finally, there's a third one i can't even log at all, it's one of those cases where the server boots you off automatically after 30 seconds. I've mostly tried using the deleter to wipe out these unwanted "guests" in my vault.
