Anyone have any thoughts on Epic Spell: Hellball?
I'm thinking of taking it next level, but in my testing it seems very weak compared to Epic Spell: Greater Ruin. Hellball will knock me down in addition to the target so I gain no time there. Furthermore, if the target has Endure Elements or Protection from Elements up, they end up only taking <20 damage total from Hellball.
The new tweaked Greater Ruin is awesome. Hellball is harder to take as an epic feat since it's requirements are higher than Ruin's, yet it is a weaker epic spell. Any way to make the caster of Hellball immune to the knockdown? DMs, DEVS? Any thoughts on this? As it stands now, Hellball may not be worth taking at all...(the only time I've seen Hellball work well is when Jin Lance Voo casts it quickly 3 times in a row)...

I'm certain Hellball didnt KD the caster in the past ... perhaps it can be reverted to its previous state? Seems kinda silly to cast a spell that will lend the caster no advantage in a fight.
But, it's such a draining job that, until you've DMed on an NWN server yourself, you the playerbase, have got to cut the DMs some slack. - Flailer
