First of all, I've just started to play in Neversummer, and I have to say that I'm loving it. Grats to everyone involved in putting Neversummer together.
Would it be possible to bring in a way of "keeping score" of attacks against opposing factions?
Let's say a party of Sleeth no gooders comes down to attack Neversummer city. To represent the fact that a successful attack helps their faction gain more control over the land, their faction is awarded points for each guard or player they kill. Maybe these points could be used by the faction to purchase better defences for their own city? Even better, they could be used to gain control of one of the NPC towns.
This would provide some incentive for players to defend their turf, and help enhance the RP a bit. Monster bashing is fun, but a feature that encourages players to get together and coordinate attacks against a common enemy has to be a good thing.
Just thinking out loud. Feel free to ignore.

Lokey is, however The Man, and I am but worthy to be his wing-ed monkey. He's been the really productive one!
Honestly guys, I know it's been a while since frequent changes have flowed here, but I'd just ask that you put a little more time on the clock. Good things are coming from the dev team.
And, if you think changes (spell or otherwise) are unbalanced, post it and state your case. Our goal is to create an environment full of viable builds that lead to fun adventuring and variety.

Actually, the devs and DMs have been doing a bang-up job, period lately. New areas, new weapons, tinkering... Random quests... Boredom where a DM will spawn monster after monster just to see how tough your party is or simply decide your outfit doesn't look cool enough and make it more to their liking...
As far as the whole "nerfing of mages" goes... I'm sure if a GOOD POLITE set of reasons why the changes are unbalancing were set forward, then it could be discussed...
Loudly proclaiming that they SUCK and that they might as well make swords useless to make it fair for melee fighters as well... Well... That's just not constructive.
Though, if the devs do that... Well, it will be unlikely to affect me since only two of my characters use a sword of any type.
Devs, keep up the good work. DMs, thanks for the random fun you inject into the game.

It's good to see there are changes in the works
A few I'd like to personally see are the animal companions and familiars make a long overdue comeback. Also, that the pale master summon gets re-worked. I posted an idea a while back about the pale master summon, but I'll post it here again just for fun...it would be cool if instead of just casting one powerful undead, he was able to raise up an army of undead around him (1 per level or whatever). If anything, it would help them escape dangerous situations.
I think the devs do an awesome job.
