Whining and Pk do's and Dont's

Look this is my 1st ever post. Today i acquired two items off an individual whom Came to NS city 3 times and was obviously hostile. After this I was told by 3 seperate players to give the items back, one of his friends threatened to kill me if i did not so i popped him 1st. 1 of the items was a powerfull crystal necklace, I refused to give the items back. Correct me if im wrong but this taking of items feature is there for a reason. U raid someones city at a risk of losing 1 of your items. I will also add that i have lost items on three seperate occasions that were not given back, nor did i ask for them.

Lastly this person logged off returned with a higher character and came after me and won a great job by him. However he was not defending the city by killing me, also a defender and after he killed me sent me a tell - "thats is for my other character"

So to Finish Can a DM clear this item taking thing up please, and to the person involved you know who you are get over it calling my character useless and weak etc shows me that you really really wanted that item back and telling me I cant get my own makes me want to keep it even more. ANyway that is it my 1st post BTW NS4 realm rocks i have only been playing 5 months now and hope to continue for a long time to come the realm is a credit to all those involved. PEACE Out

Not a DM, but I'm going to reply.

Taking an item dropped during a raid is not against the rules, in fact the whole idea of the drop is to make raiding more dangerous. You were under no obligation to return the item to the character. His friends can threaten to pk you all they want, but you're still under no obligatin to return the item.

Logging a character to revenge a pk is against the rules, this rule was added around the end of May. This should have been reported to a DM if one was on. If there wasn't a DM, and this continues, then I would say this constitutes a case of harrassment.[/url]

Elagneros hit the nail on the head. Worse comes to worse and no DM is on, a screen shot or sequence of screen shots PM'd to any of the NS4 DMs or any NS Sr. DM/Admin will get the ball rolling.

The forums are up and fully operational, so ignorance of the rules is not an excuse IMHO.

yeah, the whining is getting pretty bad on here. just remember that there is no item you already have that is impossible to get again. there are no "special" items in the mod so everything is a drop. items don't get returned after you defend a city unless its in the good of you nature to do so.

Well, actually, truth be told, it gets boring sometimes just killing monsters and such so people use neversummer as a base to get other characters to come fight and have fun. The whole "defending factions" thing does not work, I've tried saying that I took over other factions, such as AO, but there are no "defenders" because there are hardly any non-LA faction members.
Furthermore, it is poor sport to kill someone 3 times, the first being in NS, the last 2 being just outside avendell. How is it that being just outside avendell is considered NS territory. Can no one leave avendell that way in fear of someone killing them and taking their items? Just as a note, that person logged on another char because his first char couldn't even leave avendell without getting wailed and loosing items, hmm...harasment Milkmann99?

I normally goto great lengths when attacking or defending, I'll ask this question, anyone ever not get something back from me, or better yet, when attacking, anyone ever loose xp cuz i didnt give the option to raise them after my summons dropped them like a bad habit.....I'll make this point clear, there's a fine line between good fun and good sport, I enjoy give'n those in NS city some action, but i alway's make sure they loose nothing, I lost a couple of things myself last nite, well, time for joy is over, you wanna defend, then when i put the big green hand and let my summons go ape on you, dont scream thats not fair, i lost xp.

well what happened was he re-logged to a char with the NS faction so he would stop loosing items. The problem is it's not just NS City that you loose items on, you can loose items anywhere on silver road, including right outside avendell, truly lame and annoying. Why does ns get so many benifits over every other faction, they get the free speed, free items, free xp, plus they're closest to everything on the server. add ontop of that the fact they get an item from every PK thats even remotly near the ns city...

Agreed. In the time I've been playing NS4 (since roughly March or so), there's been a lot of whining on the shout channel about getting pked. Some of it gets excessive after a while. Same thing with taunting, some people take it way too far. If you were fairly pked, it may suck, but it happens.

As for items, I'm not fond of the idea of losing an item, but most of the stuff in this game isn't all that hard to come by. I think recent players of NS4 have been spoiled to some degree by a friendly player base. Certainly the NS4 I've experienced is much kinder than the more rough and tumble game I've heard described when people talk about the "old days". Not that this is a bad thing, I like the atmosphere of the game, you don't have clan hunting people down like jerks and defending it by saying they're "roleplaying". And I like the use of shout as a social channel. So many servers ban the use of shout, but it's too quiet on those servers for my taste.

to be honest, i truly miss the "old" days of ns4. the first 3 months the mod was open you couldn't trust anyone that wasn't in your faction. the red guys were swarming everywhere and it was very prestigeous of anyone to kill a hostile faction....anywhere, anyhow, anytime. i've had my lvl 20's brought down by lvl 40's and i have had my lvl 8's brought down by a very large group of lvl 5-9's. the only time anyone has ever heard me complain is when i have been hunted relentlessly once or twice because a few of us players didn't get along. of course all that is against the rules now and not even nom can say that i have gotten upset when whack's my guys from out of nowhere.

Maybe an idea for abusing shouts are to take them away if that's possible. If it is, and a dm is on, they should have the power to take shouts away for a day or so maybe.

When i go on my crazy rp trips with my l.a defenders yeah i consider avendal all the way to crossroads l.a territory .... so why should you just get to skip on though an ememy factions territory without fear of an ambush ... thats just dumb ......

Avendell should be neutral plain and simple, city of free trade and anyone can bind there, all surrounding area's should be made neutral no question.
