So Anyway

Post by Hockerbrecht »

I was thinking of having a look at NS4 seeing as I have been away for sooooooooo long.

Do any of the old crowd i know play and if so which faction? (and it better not be dwarves or aligned with them)

I was thinking of either SL or MA as a start with either a cleirc or sorc to start.

What thoughts about the Level adj for Drow/special races (real tough to start) or evens out?
Which factions hold dominance and which need more recruits?

Drow might be playable as a cleric.
Anything with an ECL +3 is pretty much insane to play as a melee.
Also the SR doesn't work properly for Drow, but that isn't so bad if you're a cleric, due tot he spells you get.

I'll have to second playing a drow cleric. I have one and she rocks. The ECL does hurt, but I think that the bonuses those races get just make them more fun later on.

I've tended to notice that many people align with Sleeth (allied with Ragnar's Kin), Neversummer or Shadow Legion.

The Northern Coalition and Mystral Ascendency seem to have the lowest representation that I've seen.

Lately I've been having fun with my lower level Northern Coalition characters. I'm giving the Charisma based builds a go and mopping up on the undead.

Ahh come on, Garagoth is a lonely town and it's no fun being a God of a town with no population. You don't want to anger Bane by not joining MA or you may find yourself stranded on the side of a cliff with no way down. LOL

But really, from a player standpoint I make almost all my guys MA.
It may be far from avendell but there is alot of stuff to lvl on around garagoth at your lower lvls and usually I have made about 7th or 8th lvl by the time I reach avendell. Also, the area is pretty spread out so you won't find yourself fighting with other players for xp in a certain area.

That's a bit of a mixed blessing... since restarting a MA character, I've seen a grand total of one other low level player either on the plains or in the wastes.

I didn't mention The Circle because any time I see a shifter (though I haven't seen one in a while) they all tend to be from TC. Gee, I wonder why?

So, I didn't include them as needing representation since every shifter ends up being from there.
