In the meantime, anyone care to post some postcards of the new areas so I can enjoy them vicariously?

Oh come on - I *knew* the new areas were going to be released as soon as I went away for a one week conference.
My apologies to the rest of you for not leaving for a week sooner....
In the meantime, anyone care to post some postcards of the new areas so I can enjoy them vicariously?

most from frostdale are dropping lvl 16 weapons for all those other types like scythes, dire mace, great axe stuff like that. sunken as some nice stuff like grang helm of the mystic for a wiz, hammer of the tempest(which is a lag hammer without lvl 2 lightning), pleasure leather
, and various other sorts. on a side note a few of the death dealers got together and killed the unknown evil, let me tell you, that kukri he has is one awesome little blade.
when death comes for you and you are not afraid, if he asks why tell him you met me

I've only run into Sunken for a small bit and that was with my 21st level fighter.
The Merfolk outside of town are all generally around level 19. So, I got some good XP for my fighter just killing the lowbies outside of town, once I changed armour, that is.
Most of the armour I picked up in town was of the level 16 variety. I ran through a few of the buildings (man, stonehold stinks when used on you) and ran into mostly 19s and 21s. My trip ended prematurely... Clerics using those insta-kill death spells are just no fun for a fighter running solo.
I like the new areas in that it is something NEW. I think you'll enjoy it once you get back.

The scythe and heavyflail dropped by the ice giants are definitely lvl20 atleast, very nice weapons.
The Hammer giant is easy enough, just has a TON of hitpoints with his heals, so if you can't do any real melee dmg you aren't going to kill him. Myself and a friend killed him lastnight easily, was sorta of a let down from how everyone was saying he was "SO STRONG!!!" If I hadn't heard what everyone else was saying I would have been impressed.
Highest level attainable right now is 40, of course that will take forever running to and from each cr >100.
A more reasonable level to attain would be level 30 fighting the cr24 Frozen Gaurdians, even that though will take awhile (for melee mostly) since they crit immune and have a ton of hitpoints.
I thought sunken would be a step higher than any of the faction cities, but it was on par roughly difficulty wise (Reminded me a lot of Melencia). Most of the gear that drops is definitely no better than faction city gear, though there are a handful of exceptions (Most notably the wizard helm, and possibly one other item I am told drops there, but haven't seen yet...). The Imperials hit hard, even with full slash protect. The Grand Mystic mob is a rough fight due to the amount of bigbies being thrown about.

Sunken was designed as an alternative to attacking a faction city. It is hostile to all and about the same difficulty as any of the faction towns.
The main bosses drop some nice alternative gear.
Frostdale is the first 21-25 area. Yea its long overdue but still a fun place.
We are debating increasing the cr on the mobs along with some difficulty on certain ones to bring this area to cr 21-30.
I think the best gear is around lvl 25, so there will still be alot of room for higher gear down the road. Remember the gear level is in no way related to char level, it is just a measure of different ranges of power.

Please post finding on specific monsters with some ideas on how to adjust them.

I think increasing the CR of the mobs in frostdale is a great idea.
I have currently stopped playing ns4 due to the fact even with epic areas you cannot attain level 40.
in 3.5, if you're level 26 and you want to level in a decent amount of time, you can go to lost paradise, kill some dragons, even go to EC if you've got a group.
Even with epic areas, level 40 is still not attainable in ns4. To me this gives me no reason to play ns4. I know the other areas are in the works but we waited a long time for just this small jump. I like to make complete characters and lots of them, I like to make a level 40 and make him better with different versions...cant do this in ns4. currently the only way to have a lvl 40 is to donate, im by no means rich enough to do that.
Please increase the cr of the mobs and make level 40 attainable so the people who like to make 40's have something to do.
I think this is a big reason why you havent seen a big jump in population as the epic areas were added. at first there were lots of people then people realized and bitched that all that has been added was 2 more factions to raid.
