Question about Bigby's Crushing and Grasping

Is the effect of these spells a "grapple" as occurs in other mods or a knockdown? From simply looking, it seems that it is a knockdown. However, I haven't really observed how it works in other mods, so I can't tell if it's been changed in NS4 or not. This would be relevant because people are talking on the NWN boards about being able to use non-offensive spells (like restore, incl. from a scroll, or mord's) while grappled to dispel the hand. Can you do this in NS4 or not?

Actually the best spell to get rid of it believe it or not is "Dismissal"

And the Bigbys collection has ben changed in here . It does not seem to be a knockdown , as discipline does not help you resist it.

I have heard people say that the greater the strength the better chance to avoid it. BUT My 23Wiz/1Monk/1SD resists it better than my buddies 23Fighter and i started with an 8 str..he started with 18

I think level is somehow incorperated into your chance to resist however after lots of experimenting I still have no clue exactly how it works.

The message will change from ( You broke the hands grasp) to (you were able to shake off the effect of the hand) or something close to that.

The effect of bigby's crushing is indeed that of KD...a Ghaele, for example, will not be rendered immobile from its "grasp". In standard NWN, Bigby's is more of a paralysis effect when it grabs you.

Don't know the formula for sure, but I thought it had something to do with STR and BAB ... Pre-wipe I had a Bard/RDD who was rather resistant to it, with 42 str...Pre-Cap, GotS (as a BLUE DRAGON) was completely immune to Bigbys...but he had 56 str and was of "Colossal" size...
