okies?

Post by sannive »

What is this thing?? And WHY??? I've been reading the rules, and I can't find one single word that says it is okay to kill other players without an agreement. Have I missed something here? I just don't get the point with this elements in NS.

Seems to be some sort of sanctioned griefing on South. When I asked about it I was told to treat them as NPCs and that I would "get used to it." I am sure there is more to it than that. It just seems that they violate so many of the rules in terms of play and foul language that on most servers they would be banned from play. Can someone please enlighten me as to why they are allowed to break the rules that are required of the rest of us? And please no BS that they are superior players and such - cause clearly they are not, they just exploit others who follow the rules.

Well I am a North vault transfer and might have missed that particular aspect when I went to see the differences in the server rules. In any case it's pretty lame for a level 40 to be PKing a level 20 who is busy talking to the dragon in CiC. No okies cared to challenge my level 40s from North vault though - just the new low level South character I had made lol.

you want the simplest answer? it's cause their friends with the DM's who run south... it's that simple.
"O cruel fate, floating through the void of space like gravity's plaything. O to be thusly boned. Ask not for whom the bone bones, it bones for thee."

Well, I hope they get banned from NS4 for their activity personally. Seems to me their add nothing to the community of value. A handful of people should not ruin the game for so many hundreds of others.

Its when the comic relief becomes griefing that things get absurd.

Even guilds that have professed an evil intent have to follow the rules set by the creators for players to abide by. Otherwise we should all just set our skill points to PP, get all the disarm feats and run around CiC and various other points and do whatever the hell we feel like.

It isn't very difficult to set up a character to grief others with.

I agree - this type of character can only function if the DMs look the other way. Okies couldn't survive if they had to abide by the rules like everyone else.

Well, considering that as of right now disarm does not drop the weapon on the ground for someone else to pick up and from what I know of pp time limits, those two things won't be exploited nearly as bad in NS4 as in NS3.

i think the okies are a great thing. you can only fight the game's ai so many times before you figure it out. the okies add an unpredictable element to gaming. besides, it's just a game, and i can respawn as many times as i get pk'd.
