does a subrace intelligence bonus increase skill points?

Post by DrivebyMessiah »

Does an intelligence bonus given by subrace give additional skillpoints per level? I've played other modules with subraces where bonuses were applied as spell effects, and not internalized into the game client. This caused a lot of problems, one of which being they could be dispelled another, for an intelligence bonus, was that it did not increase skill points. Is this addressed in NS4?

The subrace attribute modifiers are still considered spell-affects. While they can't be dispelled (to my knowledge), they do not count towards gains or losses on levelup, such as constitution or intellect.

Someone with 13 base int, who choses a subrace with -2 int, can still chose expertise feat, which requires 13 int.

Subrace bonus int doesn't affect skillpoints and doesn't count for feat reqs. But on the other hand... subrace int penalties don't affect skillpoints either and don't get counted when checking feat reqs like expertise => Lets all make wild elves :)

Do those bonuses count towards the 12 max attribute magical bonus cap?

I mean... if you try to boost your intelligence with items and fox' cunning, can you raise an extra 12 points? or will it only go up by a further amount of 10 (12 total) ?

Yes they count toward the 12 point cap

Would be nice to have base stats increase on subrace bonuses, i dunno if its Leto script or what for example to do such changes and its one time use per made char so shouldnt be too much of lag issue either, as now subrace bonuses are added as magic / item bonus, i might be wrong.

Keep hitting a huge exploit that's too big a problem to take on now. Companion code for it has been done for 4 months, just can't make it cheat-proof yet.

Where are these mythical decent people? I haven't run across them yet.

I tried that for a while. The lack of decent people made me leave. :P
