Hey, I've got a Weapon Master, uses a Greatsword.
I'm convinced that my calculations for how much damage I should do on a Crit is different from what the game is giving me, so I'd like some clarification about what does and does not get multiplied.
Ok, I get a *3 crit modifier (WM class ability)
My damage is thus:
Base Damage: 2d6 (max 12)
Strength Bonus: 12
Weapon Bonus Damage: 2d6 (max 12)
Weapon Enhancement Bonus: 2
Bonus On Crit: 2d6 (max 12)
So, max Damage is 38 for a base hit.
When I use Ki Damage (WM ability, do max damage on successful hit), AND get a crit, this ought to mean a Crit of 126 (38*3+12). However, I find that (on creatures with a DR of about 20 points against slashing), I vary between 80 and 90 (I think the 2d6 bonus crit damage doesn't get maxed).
This gives me a damage shortfall of 20 odd points.
Something in here doesn't seem to be getting multiplied.
Any ideas?

Amount of dies get multiplied and any set damage amount is multiplied,
Example:
My Firey Scimitar on my level 1 fighter does:
1d6 base damage
+5 fire damage
It has a X2 multiplier, so critical hit hit damage would be:
1d6 + 1d6 + 5 + 5 = 2d6+10 damage or 12-22.
That's why you see odd numbered amounts of damage on even damage multipliers.
As for why you don't get max damage, ask bioware

Ki damage only maxes the base damage of the weapon at this time (Thanks Bioware). All bonus damage is variable even with ki damage. Note that Sneak Attack damage is unaffected by critical multiplying; it is added afterwards.
