Hi just logged in to this forum, This a little long so apoligies to som.... And i posted in ideas forum as well :\
Well ive been on the neversummer4 server a few times now with a group of friends, we all love it!!! Exepept for 1 MAJOR hassle.....
oOk say for instance,if i was to die by a snottynosed goblin and i was very far from a group i was with,i would then have to run back all the way fighting through all what we had fought before to get to the same spot as i was at....... We found this a little bit of a pain...no infact this is the only Reason we are posting and registerd on this site...( and the fact that we were losing more xp when we would die than what we were actually gettin ) So obviously this server is Beta and that its all good to say ya opinions So this is our only problem with the server other than that is ROX I know alot of people dislike the the ability to port so i think just a port to ya leader and ya hometown would be the best and fair way..... Bye for now See ya serverside, Rudie

He has a point though. Partying is encouraged but the xp penalty makes less appealing and having to wait for a dead companion to make his way back to you sucks even more. Not to mention that two new players not in the same faction will never be able to find each other. It's really not that friendly to new players. How about limiting this ability to lower level chars, like 1-8? Gives new players a way to team up with other players and learn their way around and know what monsters are where and wether they can handle those monsters. At level 8 you still can't make a lick of difference attacking a town and at level 9 you get new equipment and can better handle yourself. I think these types of ideas should be experimented with while it is in beta.
Another idea would be a gate scroll you could purchase from Elvin that lets you port to your home town for defence or because you are overburdened. Just don't let them go back to where they ported from and they can't make loot too quickly, but walking in slow motion isnot enjoyable and forcing everyone to make high str chars is also unreasonable.

Well, I've seen portals around that look like they're under development. They're not as convenient as the gate scroll idea, and probably doesn't solve the initial problem posted
, but it seems a little more "realistic".

A few things you could do to easy your problem:
- have a cleric in your party
- carry raise dead scroll around
- find the nearest rift shards, they're usually inside buildings, binding is a big deal on this server, it won't hurt to know shard locations
- use blue powder (invisibility), haste potions or whatever spells/skills/items u got to sneak past dangerzones
I hope this helps
and i pray we never get a porting system,
unless it's only for use under city raid conditions
and only ports one way you to your hometown
or allied town

I'm pretty sure those ports are leading to the nexus as soon as those areas are implimented....Smatchy-mo wrote:Well, I've seen portals around that look like they're under development.
