need to lose lvls

Post by meatbean »

I need to lose 2 lvls off a character i screwed up on and took a wrong class on. Any suggestions on how to do this? My best idea is to bind somewhere near an enemy territory and let enemy npc kill me over and over. Is this possible?

That is a viable option, be careful though, you will want to be able to get away from that mob after you've lost your two levels.

Under the stock Bioware item level requirement system, there was an old bug that rendered your character unplayable if you went below the level requirements for an item you had equipped & then tried to log on.

I've dropped below the custom NS4 level requirement on an item through XP loss before & haven't had any trouble (the item just de-equipped), BUT I don't think I logged out then tried to log back in again to duplicate the Bioware bug.

To be on the safe side, drop your gear into your pack if you intend to go below one of the ILR levels.

I wonder, if you get lvl drained do you gain EXP based on the drained lvl total? In other words if im lvl 21 and get drained to lvl 17, do i get exp as a lvl 17 or 21?
I've tried fire, i've tried faith, and i've tried force, all I have left is hope.

Tried this a while ago, it works, ie I was drained from 20 to 17. Could still use all my weaps. etc and I got xp like a lev 17. This was quite a while ago, and I suspect its considered a bug and will be fixed. Exploiting it would probably be technically against the rules....

dont think any equipment uses the bioware stock ilr code.

it's all custom scripted i believe, so at worse it should de-equip to your pack. still, might wanna manually remove it to be safe.

it also makes it alot easier for the mobs to kill you if you dont have any items equiped

Yes it works. Also, this is in the bug tracker, so I assume that it would be considered exploiting to use it?

spend as much XP as you can in crafting (why let it all go to waste?) and thenstrip your gear into your inv and let a mob kill ya, repeat till you are desired level
