Instead of making posts all over thought I would just make one with a few questions.

1. Darkfire, keen edge, etc. These can be cast only once on a weapon? So if you cast darkfire you cannot add keen edge? And are these suppose to be only to be able to be cast on a non-magical weapon? I don’t know if it is a bug but sometimes it says item is enchanted already and sometimes it doesn’t (on same weapon).

2. (Hate to bring up another PvP) I know this is beta and RP is very light here. It happened before but I gave it no thought but since it happened twice the other day I wanted to ask. I was in my home town and see fighting, the attacker is neutral to me so I change them to dislike and kill them (since they are killing the guards). Twice I received scathing tells basically saying “what the hell are you doing” (wasn’t said that nice). In my own defense I check and if they were killed by summon/npc I would offer raise so no xp penalty. Just checking, is that so wrong? And even if they were easy or moderate I would killed them anyways just because I see that as defending your town.

3. I have seen some posts about it but cannot find any answers. (If this doesn’t belong sorry in advance) I seem to having an odd occurrence of NWN crashing to desktop and I have to reboot my system to use it again. It isn’t reproducible, I can go for days without any problems then it happens every 10 minutes. Only very odd thing it only happens while in NS, any ideas would be appreciated

4. Healing kits, I know you can use one potion per round but how many kits can you use? It seems that multiple kits can be used but I have no idea how many per round.

1: As i have heard you can only ad 1 spell per item, and only on non magical items. I have no idea if this is true since i hardly ever play a caster, and i cant remember who told me, so it might be rumours, someone with better knowlegde will hopefully clear this out.

2: I have tried this too, when someone attacked Dearon (before i change to RK) i tried to defend and the guy got mad since he was only after the morning star that the high cleric drops, but ofcouse i wouldn't back down since it was in the defence of the town.
If a player attack a town, he needs to deal with the players will try to defend their home town, if they cant handle that, then maybe they should stay out of the faction cities

3 and 4: i have no idea :P

I've done cheching on potions and it looks like you can get 2 in per round, but when using a potion you ahve to wait till the start of a round and incur an AoP.

Will check to see if pots are useable halfway through a round.

if i find someone who is killing my people, i'll kill them regardless of level, if they don't like it, they can come to me and die again :P

Ah forgot 2:

5. Drows in darkness, I thought they are able to see in darkness without penalties but, when I go into darkness I still have a 50% miss due to opponent being concealed. Only way seems to cast ultravision which I thought they didn’t need.

6. Are the arcane master artesian forges in Garagoth? I searched everywhere I could think of and found the crafting table for armor and weapons but unless the arcane is in Garagoth I am just out of ideas.

I was pretty sure that summons and familiars/companions no longer caused an xp loss. Last week, before vacation, i was killed by a druid's bear and suffered no xp loss, but maybe things have gotten changed since then.

AndrewCarr: I think that still is the case no xp loss for summon kill but when he was a lot lower level i was offering just in case and to avoid the "tells" but, as you can see it didnt make a difference anyways.

you A. kill them B. run away C. pretend like your buffing them then ninja loot thier stuff and run like no 2moro.

As to the enchanting of weapons, you can now only use one spell, but you can cast it on a magical weapon. I have noticed if you try to cast the one spell just after logging in, it will tell you the weapon is already enchanted. This seems to be some kind of bug where the game "remembers" a spell on the weapon when you logged off. If you rest as soon as you log on, you do not suffer this.

That's a longstanding Bioware bug, I think. When you got disconnected due to a crash, the temporary enchantment on a weapon would persist, sometimes for much longer than should have been possible through simple spell duration (had a "temporary" Flame Weapon on one of my wiz staffs in NS3 for weeks).

I think the reason we're noticing so much it now is the fact that the message comes up when you try to re-enchant an item. Before, unless you checked your weapon on logging in from a crash, you probably wouldn't notice an existing effect if you recast the spell.

A follow up to one of my problems(3); I had heard that ATI had some capatability problems with NWN but I am not sure if this was the case or it was my specific card. I was using the Asus 9800XT(256meg) and just to see, I put a much lower NVidia 5900XT(128 meg) and the difference was unbelievable. I have not had any more crashes, I turned up everything and the framerate is still better. Like I said I am not sure if it is my specific card or brand but I thought to reply to my original post in case anyone else has had these issues.

I keep reading about ATI cards having probs with NWN but I have yet to experience it myself. I ran NWN on an ATI 7200 with no probs after ATI updated the Catalyst driver to 4.? (they had a bug in there Open GL driver). I now have a Gigabyte 9600 and still have no probs with evrything maxed in the game as far as framerates or crashing. What settings for both driver and NWN are you using when your systems crash, and what Catalyst version are you running?

I am not sure of version number but I am positive it was their latest version and catalyst (I am anal about constantly checking, almost daily for updates). For my settings I set the bars at balance and then manually set the options AA,etc to application preference and for NWN res is at 1280x1024 (now i run it at 1600x1200)

In NWN I had everything turned to minnimum, literally the only setting that wasnt all the way to the left was the gamma bar. I had no boxes checked shiney water,font, etc. The crashing issue (after I posted I tried some old servers) I was able to crash to desktop but, there is no consistancy and it might not happen for a couple days then I will have it happen 6 times in a night.

Asus includes an overclocking utility with its card and I ran the game with it running overclocked, then running with no overclocking, finally with it not running at all and didnt see any difference. Since I play NWN more then anything else I just pre-ordered the 6800ulta big price but with my work schedule this is the closest to a vacation I will see for a long while. :cry:

yup yup... have the same problem w/ my radeon 7200

then again... lately it's begun to overheata lot and i generally have to let it cool down every once in a while...

yea.. i seem to have the most success w/ 1280x1024 tho havent tried running anythign larger in a while.

is it easier for the card to run things at higher resolution?
