missing NPC'S

I was playing just awhile ago when i came across the druegar tunnles to find that there was nothing there at all. This continued as i pased threw from screen to screen untill i ended up at the gnoll fort. my question si then is there a problem with my computer or is there a problem with the screens?

Maybe somebody killed them all?

When I have a problem seeing NPCs (and PCs for that matter) I can still interact with them, and they attack me. Maybe you just ran past all hostile critters in the area. Otherwise it is very likely somebody cleared house before you arrived.

EDIT: Also when I can't see objects on my screen, when I press TAB, I can see their name and health, but not the actual creature. Wierd.

I dont think that was the problem as i visited some screens multiple times over the course of about an hour real time
