positive energy vs undead

Post by djshale »

how does positive energy work when cast on undead. I cast cure critical wounds on the undead minatour lich thing near dearon and I did +500 plus damage, the 2nd cast I did +300 damage, and the last cast about 60... after that it was dead with a couple of hits from my hammer. Im not sure about the number but I know they were a lot.

I always thought it was supposed to deal equal damage to what you would normally heal with the spell... but I've learned never to fully trust bioware spell description... anyway I have never tried casting cure spells on undead before so I dont know if this is unique to NS.

So is the big damage a feature, a bug or has it always worked this way.
When you cant change the game, change the way you play.

It does a percentage based on a die roll. May be caps depending on level and whether you have the heal domain. I would like a minimum though. It gets annoying when you cast cure critical (as a heal domain cleric of 16th level) on a skeletal rat and it does 5 damage.

I was under the impression that heal at least worked the same way as harm does on the living. ie does 1/4 remaining hp damage. Not sure how the cure critical etc are implemented.

Good question though, be interested to see what other people know.

That would be the most appropriate question, yes :)

I've got to do SOMETHING when travelling to and from Daeron. :)
