Dishonored: Zicunicon Zenthendt
Dishonored: Zicunicon Zenthendt
Zicunicon Zenthendt's track record so far has included chugging heal pots early in his career, which he has apologized for and stopped doing. But he has moved onto better tactics over his lifetime, which include:
Trans-games back and forth to run away and avoid death
Restore pot chugging (and when i say chugging, i mean 40x in a single run from SL to AO)
Battle logging to avoid death in enemy territories in order to relog later (2 sessions in a row now, once with a relic, once without)
I know that none of these things are 'against the rules', but this is, consistently, the most dishonorable play I have seen out of any toon in my time on the server. I have not seen a single session against him where he has NOT done at least one of the above, with the exception of having superior numbers during AO defense.
Just wanted to make sure that everyone was aware and I urge you to have absolutely no respect for that toon, or player.

Re: Dishonored: Zicunicon Zenthendt
Hey!!! I resemble some of those comments! Though I don't think I've ever done it on anything other than my lowbies. I've actually battle logged and chugged against you barg, but only because I was shuttling my lowbie toon and didn't feel like paying the boat fare again LOL.
The trans thing, I've seen people do it every once in a while, but I never really thought it was more than an annoyance. Didn't know it was frowned upon by the community. The chugs I totally agree reflect poorly on a player's honor.
I've always wondered, what if you invested heavily in the Heal skill? Shouldn't you be allowed to use heal kits in this case? You specifically made a conscious and deliberate choice in your build to invest the 43 skill points into it (very different from chugging pots because pots do not require build choice). How about UMD'd scrolls and wands? How do you draw the line when you're heavily invested in a skill but you cannot use it because of "honor"? And you can't draw the line by saying "if it's too annoying, it's dishonorable" because some builds are used specifically for demoralizing via annoyance.

Re: Dishonored: Zicunicon Zenthendt
It's the amount of heals that's the question. A Fighter with 500 heal hits on him is way different than a cleric with a finite amount of heal spells. UMD heals are just as bad as pots. You can carry 500 full heal scrolls and abuse it easily.nagaguard wrote:I've always wondered, what if you invested heavily in the Heal skill? Shouldn't you be allowed to use heal kits in this case? Re: Dishonored: Zicunicon Zenthendt
And I need to rescind the statement that he USED to chug heal pots. He just chugged 4 full heals this last session.
43 skill points isn't exactly 'heavily investing' in it. Many toons have spare skill points, especially pure fighters and barbs. Even if they aren't spare, a single int +2 book can get 40 more skill points.
So here's the really funny thing, even after all the battlelogging... he did it again, about 10 mins later, then ran and ran and eventually got caught again, so battlelogged a THIRD time. This time Frendel patiently waited for him to return and smacked him as soon as he logged (he was near death already, of course). So he respawns, at which point 3 other AORK raiders log and come wipe SL clean. So all his actions were for no benefit, except to show his true character and style.

What's the problem with RESTORE pot chugging??Bargeld wrote: Restore pot chugging (and when i say chugging, i mean 40x in a single run from SL to AO)

DD and IO dont have much room to talk about transition abuse...

Care to show me doing that? 'My comp loads faster than your comp' is a terrible way to play, and people should just quit PvP if they can't win with their build alone. Doors aren't what make a warrior great.Korr wrote:DD and IO dont have much room to talk about transition abuse...
Re: Dishonored: Zicunicon Zenthendt
Nothing really, it's legal, and i'll even admit to using stained rods to neut myself repeatedly... but not 40x. Again, this comes down to intent and character, and the guy just doesn't want to lose. He would rather use everything within the HARD rules to not die, and doesn't care about the quality or fun of the gameplay. Part of this stems from the ego that arises from playing that toon and successfully running away and surviving for the past many months. Basically, there wasn't a real good solo, 1v1 counter for his build... so he thought. Crown was built to stop that type of barb runner specifically, and he doesn't like that a consistent counter for his build was made. I think he's still coming to terms with it. Add multiple team members into the mix on our side, and we have the result we see here.Lagnar wrote:What's the problem with RESTORE pot chugging??Bargeld wrote: Restore pot chugging (and when i say chugging, i mean 40x in a single run from SL to AO)
From that aspect, I understand where he is coming from, one of my favorite toons, Crazy MADD Insanity, is a freaking juggernaut, there are very few things out there that stop him, especially 1v1... but they DO exist. It doesn't mean when I run into one (or a group) of them that I REFUSE to lose, it just makes me want to fight harder, and still honorably, so if I do win the battle, it still means something to me.
And Korr, everyone transes back and forth every once in a while, it IS a trans game and you CAN use it to lose a chaser. But if you do it over and back more than once, then you aren't outsmarting anyone anymore, you are just fighting CPU vs CPU, not outsmarting the other player. Put it into the context of a person running through a door in real life and the person chasing them runs through it after them. If you are right on their tail and then you don't see em on the other side, you know to turn around and look, and you will usually find em. They don't have the opportunity to go BACK ahead again, cuz duh, you would be seen. But in the game, this is distorted and becomes an abuse once you play that game back n forth. If you are gonna die, just suck it up and come back for more.
Again, the whole purpose of this thread is not to try to change rules, or say anyone broke them. All these topics are open-ended for a reason. Most players are honorable about their play style and tactics. This thread is to call out one of the players that isn't honorable. That is all.
edit: I almost forgot... the perfect example. One of Zic's faction-mates pm'd me earlier stating 'Zic told me he crashed, not battle logged'. My response was '3x, all nearly dead, and waiting some time between them?' I received no response. So either his faction-mates are making excuses for him (which, given the source, I do NOT think is the case) or he is lying to his faction-mates.

What about the diminishing returns of heal-related pots?

Pure barbarian regen, haste, and DR make using just 2-3 heal pots (even with diminishing results) colossal when grabbing and running away with a relic.
Re: Dishonored: Zicunicon Zenthendt
Battle-logging is actually against the rules. I am wondering why nobody is pointing that out yet? Even in PvM you better don't get caught doing it...
Unless of course it got changed in the last year. But I sure hope not.

Re: Dishonored: Zicunicon Zenthendt
The solution is simple:
During the 1 hour before reset: PvP rules where no consumables will work.
During the 3 hours after reset: Everyone can have fun leveling together, PvP turned off and relics frozen.
Unfortunately the main people in charge really don't understand or want to make the necessary changes to enable fair and fun PvP, so I stopped playing and found other worlds to help build.

Re: Dishonored: Zicunicon Zenthendt
Perhaps in spirit, but it's not specifically addressed in the Commandments. It could fall under a couple other rules based on interpretation, but battle-logging is not referenced anywhere.Nyeleni wrote:Battle-logging is actually against the rules. Can't really write a rule for that. Hardware can go plonk or overheat, cely does a pisspoor job keeping the internet up, etc... The reason they're getting killed might be they already timed out after all
