Well.. spent about an hour grinding through some mountain maps trying to level up my first character with another server friend. It was a tough grind and we died a few times but we were getting it done, barely. Then a DM walks onto the map and slays both of us level 13's with no provocation. I had to rez back in Avendell and all of our work was lost.

Dont get me wrong.. pvp happens and this isnt' the first time I've been beat up. I just thought the fact that this was a DM was ultra-lame and I would have expected a DM to be more helpful rather than slaying noobs and laughing about it.

Not a very friendly server so far. Just saying.

then a couple higher lvls toons logged on and raced to kill me...wich they did and i rewarded them for it...

Naw, the game is great Lokey. But you know how it is. The low levels ARE definately a grind. You have to run and fight a long way just to get somewhere that can give decent experience. Hey, if you run into a random player, oh well that's the breaks. But I just thought the DM's where in game to assist and referee, rather than punch level 13's tickets with a single button press and send them back 10 maps to spend 20 minutes running back. Sorry, I know its whining. I was just enjoying the server but now I'm worried about the maturity of the DM's. Nulesi's advice was best.. "just roll with it". I'll go with that.

And for the record, so far I've brought 2 people from our guild to the server and potentially 3 or 4 more. They're good, friendly guys and should bring some fresh meat to the server.

Welcome terdwillow, haven't had a chance to greet you in-game. I think you will eventually get used to DMChase's antics. He is for better or worse, our resident God-of-Trollery...uhm...Trickery. It's a rarity to have such undue attention of a DM in game. Take it as a compliment and brighten up the RP a bit. Look on the bright side. It did not cost you XP nor gold if you died to him. Free recall to sell your loot is a bonus.

I look forward to seeing you and your guild mates in-game. There's lots to do here. And it's always less grindy if you have a party.

I just leveled a brand new toon to 10, then deleveled to 1, then back up to 25 in about 2 days. I'd guess maybe an hour per level, depending on if solo or in group and what level you are at (hurrah, holiday weekend!) Knowing where to go and what to kill and having the gear already gathered helps a lot.

Just wait till you get your toon to 28 and realize you can't take something you were planning on because of the custom server class/faction setup. Or that your build just outright sucks. Or that you chose a crappy weapon. Or... or... Yer gonna be really pissed then when you find yourself with a level 28 mule/scroll crafter. Then the same thing will happen with your second toon @ 32. At least you will know your way around and have collected some gear and met some people and learned about some of those players you haven't met yet. There's more to learning this server than grinding up a mountain for 4 maps.

The Deities of Aetheria are as flawed in character or mind as the rest of us, they just have more power. Which is pretty much a universal constant no matter the planet or plane.

Hey there Twig. Thanks for your help the other day. I finally figured out where the heck I was going. And after getting roughed up by the Skeleton Commander a few times, I finally stuck it to him!

You wont find a more dedicated bunch than who is on this server, give it time you will fall into the mush of things
all the people here including the DM's are great, sometimes people get on your nerves, that happens, just enjoy the game
Remember, everyone has there bad day's, and sometimes, they loggon for 1 purpose, to see just how much they can get under someones skin
Hell, i do that even on a good day, all and all, dont be in a rush, there are alot of server quirks you dont know yet, just play for now to learn
Give it some time, when you start to figure out some of these quirks, then, start working on a serious toon that you can get to 40
Alot of people on this server will answer questions and help ya out, start asking around, and the wiki is invaluable, i've been here
