Sad spirit.....

Post by hond »

During a pvp, i get disarmed twice by a AO player...loose a musteval bow and a black lord sword (hond's poker)...i first ask to them, and get a negative..no problems...each player have is own game spirit...Some will just give back disarmed item, some will trade it vs other item, and some other will guard it...all ok
Now, i tried to take back that upgraded item ,trading it vs same item...so yes, i loose a black lord, but i try to take back who is mine.
What kind of "player", will refuse the trade ??
In same concept, i will remember a AO/RK raid in menzo temple, Ultimecia get disarmed, and loose ignition staff, the item was stuck in wall, the player PM us (xal and me) to : hold the map, and help him to take back his staff...during 20 mins we was "working" on it, and finaly take it back...
I never "stole" disarmed item... and i don't care if some other SL/MA do.
I'm not here to cry for the sword, in this case i go farm other, just making a reflexion about the spirit some players show...in this case, player who will not trade item vs item is showing , a very poor game spirit...i don't kill any member of your family, even stole you in RL...
Relax a bit man, it's just a game...

The kind of player that takes that "spirit" of a PVP server seriously. now your next course of action is to...

1. Forget about it and move on
2. offer another trade that is more tempting (how good really depends on how much you want that item)
3. (my favorite!!) Offer a bounty on the players head that stole said item and get your revenge that way!!!

To say that the "playing spirit" of the players has changed for the worse I would have to disagree when in comparison to this instance. If I disarmed someone I would make them work to get the item back. specifictly in a PVP situation.

Some people will help you get disarmed item, some people wont. If you helped someone get the disarmed item back, good for you, but don't expect that now everyone is supposed to give you back what was disarmed from you.
Being disarmed is part of life on NS4. If you don't want to be disarmed, get more discipline. If you can't get discipline then don't use the item you fear could be disarmed.

i don't ask for item back...i just trade it back for same item...
Name of player for a bounty?? its a pub account, so hard to know really who is it, even if i have a serious idea of it...
Better trade ?? i don't care of the sword, it's more, someone entered in my account a day...i found my SD nude in troll map, some items with color change and the sword was named...found it particulary hilarous way for secure my account...Don't know who do it, but it's not so easy to change the name of an item (DM reward). So that's all for the history... Man, that sword in your inventory will always remember you, how your Real life is so sad , that you need revenge in virtual life... enjoy it

Nah, Hond is onto something here. We all enjoy pvp, but disarming is just so messed up, it isn't just part of the game. And getting higher disc isn't always an option, especially if confronted by overwhelming odds with bards and other nice buffers.

True, Hond shouldn't have used the named weapon, and I'm sure he won't do this mistake again, but still, if the ambience of NS4 wasn't so hostile sometimes, this trade would have been made a long time ago.

Hond is just not well liked, and a certain player in AO RK just loves to provoke animosity. Let's leave it at that. I don't think you will ever be able to sweeten the deal with that player. I'm just assuming of course, but I had my share of encounters with all the different multilogged chars of his (does he share accounts too?). Anyways I'm done with this childish behaviour - at least for some weeks heh.

I got disarmed of a voidmind blade from my unshifted kitty the other day by MA/SL. I even had it returned to me... I was truly amazed (though I dont think Ive ever stolen a weapon, maybe maybe only 2 disarmers even) I figured I would be farming up a new one in that next week!

Even better... more targets. If youre bounty is high enough and people really go at it, then youve managed to get some good revenge right?

It would be nice if you gave it back to him, he really wants it back. Perhaps it has sentimental value. Being nice is a good thing.

I only say this because I think those who return disarmed weapons should be celebrated more. There is more honor with giving the weapon back.

But let this be a lesson learned. Don't fight pvp with valuable weapons. Habitual offenders shouldn't necessarily be given this courtesy.

I give disarmed weapons back, but I don't expect to always have weapons returned to me.

It helps if you ask nicely though. I'm not saying you did this, but an angry tell demanding your weapon back is much less productive.

But if everyone gave the weapons back then no one would be celebrated. So those that keep the disarmed weapons contribute to celebration as much as those that don't.

Seems like the thread is changing ... i asked for the weapon, but i don't say player have to return it....I offer a black lord sword to take back other .... that's the sad spirit i'm speaking about...not if weapon have to be returned after disarmed...
