The mighty over-powered Cot Stunner…

We were being raided by La Fontaine, so I logged Jill of Arc {CLAD} to defend. One of the best builds on the server I’ve been told, yet with AB of 76 she hit him only once or twice… and with an AC of 78 he ripped her to shreds in about 3 rounds.

So decided to pull out the big guns and logged my super overpowered CoT stunner…

She never hit him even once and was torn to pieces in about 4 rounds…

After the fifth time he killed me in a row… I became a little discouraged and gave up




Lucky for me I’m so overpowered or I would have only lasted 2 rounds…

Well, I haven't been around for a while (computer problems), so I have no idea what sort of build La Fontaine is, but you can't expect to kill everything all the time. If you were having trouble hitting with Jill, of course you are going to have trouble hitting with a stunner that has lower ab.

Side note: Jill of Arc can't possibly have 76 ab. Don't be fooled by what your character sheet says, because your character sheet can read higher than the +20 ab cap. The battle log will show the true ab. Almost all CoT builds can get their character sheet to read much higher than their true ab because they hit the +20 cap so easily.

hummm... took that number from her, buffed.... not from her character sheet... and that was before Rockys Final Stand...

still could not hit La LA La La La La La La LA Fontaine very often...

and Sunny never hit him once

The only possible way to have 76 ab on a dexer CoT is to have a small stature race, a full 30 bab, 20 starting dex, dex on every level-up, 6 dex feats, a +4 dex book, and every ab feat. I am very doubtful that this is the case.

Anyways, all builds have counters. CoT stunners are overpowered because they counter many builds and are countered by very few builds. The result of a single encounter cannot be used to determine power level of a build.

Ask Chris about Volcanus vs. Naw. We had some gnarly battles, of which he won the initial 2 or 3 straight, but after a few on-the-spot gear/spell/tactic changes, it turned it 180 degrees and I won 2 or 3 straight. Even now, if I meet Naw in the battlefield, will I run straight up and think I will win every time? That would be foolish of me. Especially in mixed combat. (Although I'd still try )

I must have read it wrong tis only 74... no wonder I can't hit anything...

CoT stunners are overpowered because they counter many builds and are countered by very few builds

I keep hearing this flawed line of reasoning over and over and it just doesn't hold water... they are no more overpowered than the PM, the RDD, or the DD

or even Rabids new build

but I can see there is no use trying to convince those who have bought into the illusion... so I won't bring it up again

a Dext PM toon with EMA, full dext, blinding speed, will take 80 AC with 16 PM lvls...but 56 AB...if you add IE to that you can go 90 AC but 46 AB....if you can't touch him, and he still touch you, you have to make a mistake (on ur AB, or your tactic)...check the log, and if you see he used improved expertise, disengage him (make him follow you and breack IE) and reengage...using a stunner vs a PM will probably make him laugh...All this, in case that Lafontaine is a PM toon evidently...
A last point, i know both of your toons, and they are not the best CoT toons of the server...Far away from it....

There are generally ridiculously high levels of fail in this thread. I mean, its pretty simple - CoTs don't get disables that work on high AC targets, but they shred lower AC targets like DR PMs, fighters, DR Barbs, DR DWDs, DR RDDs, clerics, *wizards, *hipsers, *sorcs, *str bards, etc.

Also, I had to lol at hond's call as them not being the best CoT toons of the server because of the fact that the 'best' CoT on the server isn't even a CoT, based on complaints I've had .

AB is capped to +20...considering that you will fight with a +6 to +8 weapon, you can only add +14 to +12 with rest of buffs (token, divine power,divine favor,song, AVA, wrath) 74 AB means you have a natural AB of 54... Mean a full bab preepic so 30 base AB + 1 from SF weapon +2 from ESF weapon + 1 from Epic prowess and +20 Dext bonus.... +20 Mod is 50 on dext.... Are you sure now your AB still 74 ??

to mining ...J Repent oficier, is a CoT toon and stilll way better toon than jill...also buzon...toons you can hardly face 1vs1... Jill of arc is easy beatable compared..

CoT's are not the meanest melee builds running around out of NC, Rangers are. You guys get them confused. Crazy smells bad, shower or no, it doesnt matter. As nc is limited in caster ability, they should have a melee giant. No CoT ever conceived can stand toe to toe with a well built RDD dragon and win. Lets nerf RDD dragons...... And lastly, dont argue with an idiot, he will drag you down to his level, and beat you.
