Re: Crafting
are you at the master artisan crafting station?
are you sure you have all the xp you need? You can't delevel while crafting.

Re: Crafting
I am lvl30. I am a Master and I was told the Monks have the Master Crafting station for Tailor and Master tiems do show up for selection. I can make the original Master item. I then select upgrade an exisitng item and pull the item out and place it on the work area. I would expect a price and an experience amount to be given in the info bar on the lower right and that is when I get a message which says item lost you do not have enough gold. I have 1000000 gld and I if I need more that is fine I just need to know how much. I am almost to lvl31 so I do not think exp is the problem but it could be as it never tells me how much exp and gld it will cost. I have lost 5 item so far and I would like to figure this out so any help is appreciated.
Re: Crafting
If you put a crafted item on the ground... Avendell anvil... attempt to sell... give to another player... etc... the item can no longer be upgraded.

Re: Crafting
Give to another player? This seams to contradict the use of guild crafters, and the crafter makes the items and gives it to another toon, who can later bring it back to upgrade for lvl 25 or 30. Any item must be upgraded by the original crafter, perhaps this is to which you refer?Ajantis. wrote:If you give to another player... etc... the item can no longer be upgraded.

Re: Crafting
You can put it on the ground and move it from player to player, but you can't put it on the anvil and still upgrade it. I don't think a crafter can upgrade something crafted about another crafter, but I'm not completely sure about that.

Re: Crafting
Which item are you trying to upgrade? Perhaps there is an issue with that particular item such as the upgraded item does not actually exist in the item database at present.

Click on the station to initiate the upgrade. Don't directly drop the item onto the station, it functions like a chest.mweidel13 wrote:I then select upgrade an exisitng item and pull the item out and place it on the work area.

Re: Crafting
I tried 2 items. The first was a pair of gloves and the other was a helm. I create the Master item. I equiped it and use the item as it will not allow me to upgrade the item till the following day. The following day I unequip the item. I open the Tailor work bench. I select upgrade an item. I move the item to the work bench. I would expect something to be said about the cost to upgrade or that I am not allowed ot upgrade the item if it were an exp pt issue. I select upgrade the item and the item disappears. One time it went back into my inventory.
Re: Crafting
Ok, well those items should work. What normally will happen is you select to upgrade an item, the workbench will open for you to put the item in, and you place the item in the workbench. If you don't have enough exp or gold, you will get a message in your combat log stating that you do not have enough gold or exp to craft the item and it will be automatically returned to your inventory. This will happen as soon as you place it on the bench, there is no need to close the bench or anything. If you have enough exp and gold, The bench will automatically close and a chat box will appear stating the exp and gold cost. You have the option of either taking the item back or upgrading the item in the chat box. If you upgrade the item, click on the bench again and it will open (or maybe it opens automatically, I forget) and the upgraded item will be there for you to take. If you don't upgrade the original item will be there.
Also, you can upgrade a master artisan item immediately after crafting them, there is no need to wait a day, you just have to wait 1 day between crafting level 20 master artisan items.
What it sounds like to me is that you don't have enough gold or exp to upgrade, and it is rejecting the item. Check your inventory again to see if it has given the item back to you, it should do that automatically. When you don't have enough gold or exp, it won't tell you how much more you need, it just says you don't have enough. To upgrade from level 20 to level 25 it is 2,500 exp and 100,000 gold. To upgrade from 25 to 30 it is 5,000 exp and 135,000 gold if I remember right.

When you select 1) Upgrade item.
It upgrades it automatically and drops it back into inventory. There is no need to re-open the chest or retreive your item.

Re: Crafting
Thank you all for help. You were right it was an exp pt issue. It is strange that I lost so many items but I did get the two items I wanted created. It looks like I can only upgrade the Master items once for the gloves and helm. Does that sound right? I get an item can not be upgraded message. If I could upgrade them one more time they would reallt be exceptional items and would be worth all of the time invested in crafting.

Re: Crafting
Master Artisian allows you to create a lvl 20 item
You can then upgrade it once to lvl 25 at the cost of 2,500xp and 100,000 gold
You can then upgrade that lvl 25 item one more time to lvl 30 at the cost of 5,000xp and 135,000 gold

Re: Crafting
everything can be upgraded twice. level 30 tailored gloves should have +8 str, +5 deflection ac, and some amount of heal ranks. I forget the stats on level 30 tailored helms at the moment.
