Here's a worksheet I slapped together for keeping track of potions and other various disposable items. Some of you might find it useful.

Re: Disposable Item Tracker
Each column represents how much of each item is in a character's inventory. I had the names of my characters typed in at the top of the columns, but they got removed because that wouldn't be useful to anyone else, and said characters were wiped in 2006 anyway (it's an old file I managed to dig up recently). All anyone has to to is just type or write their character names in at the top.
The top half of the sheet has spell effects from potions that players can brew and the bottom half has effects from potions that can't be brewed and the various items that occasionally get dropped by enemies. So with the line labeled Bull's Strength, you mark how many Faded Green Potions and/or charges from Pale Golden Orbs the character has in the column for the character. It's mostly useful for characters that can't buff themselves and need items when they're not in a party.
I edited it slightly (such as combining Bless, Aid, and Prayer into one line since they don't stack any more), but I made the list back before I stopped playing, so I don't know if anything new was added. As far as I can tell, all the old items the list was based on are still around. Didn't include Virtue or Summon Creature I because they're only useful for very low level characters.

Re: Disposable Item Tracker
I opted years ago for a diffrent approach..
Inventory
Page one- swap items, wpns shiels, and gear such as alternate rings, gloves, armor
page two- consumables with the exact layout of items on all my toons. (makes awareness of consumables easy)
page three- over flow from page one and gear to be muled
page four- ammo and over flow from page 5
page five- items to be sold
page six- faction diary, racial tokens, job items, gems diamond though saphire
Using a strict inventory system makes playing any toon easier, as I know exactly where to look. I quick bar with another set of rules, that applies to all toons.
Though the form provided by Elagneros will certainly appeal to some.

Wouldn't a spreadsheet be a better tool for the job?

Well, if you're printing it out and placing it next to you, it wouldn't really matter.LinuxPup wrote:Wouldn't a spreadsheet be a better tool for the job?

Leto will generate a flat file from a character sheet. Can parse that if you want to whatever

Re: Disposable Item Tracker
I do that too, I keep my potions, faction and race items and diary on the last page to keep them out of the way, and use page 5 for overflows, and spare equipment. Don't organize any deeper than that because it takes too much time to juggle stuff when I'm raiding an area, and stuff gets swapped around when I switch weapons in combat. I also have a standard configuration for the Quick Bar as well.Shadowalker wrote: Using a strict inventory system makes playing any toon easier, as I know exactly where to look. I'm not going to be using a spreadsheet because NWN acts squirrely on this computer when I swtich to another program. Ah the joys of imperfect Win7 compatibility. It's ok, because I mostly use the worksheet when I'm restocking the character, I don't actively track usage when I'm adventuring.
