Of course he is the minion of NC to bring finally some balance to Aetheria.

Just kidding as is your first reaction. I'm pretty sure the bigbies are still useful. You just have to adapt to the innovation.

Thus, before just stating the "bloody" obvious, why not make a constructive critique and tell us where the new modifications lack extensively in comparison to the old ones.

sad part was after testing with my wiz, i'm not even gonna bother taking the time de-lvling my sorc
there all garbage, lvl 6 was ok, but the rest, not even worth it

So let me understand something, the first act of the new Dev who was NC/TC guild, is to make Mages less effective?

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but NC/TC can't use mages right? So who does this really benefit?

well..first off...you will never have all spells under a single focus to make it easy mode for you. sometimes you have to pick your build

second..i'm surprised that the player base thinks a dev would put something into the mod without it ever being ran through the entire team.

third...i nerfed your mages :)

they were dual focused, you needed both schools for a bigby to be 100% effective
second, why cant we pull our head out of our [censored] and actually nerf the things that are truely broke

All good, new games come out every month
I'll find someting that has some balance to it
cuz it sure as hell isnt here anymore
Only thing we had to stop shifters and CoT's and PM's for that matter and poof its gone

The hard thing is time 4 many ppl me anyway. i make the build god or bad as i like it to be. after about 3 months il get

my toon to lvl 34 only focus on Con. Is it strange that il get a little uppset its Evo focus the next day i log in ,and need to start from the begining.

Change my focus so i havent wasted my time 4 nothing.

Cant be that hard 4 a god:)

I really havent heard that many ppl complain on the old bb either,

overpowerd not really without good BB what can a sorc/wiz do.?





I still love to play in ns4.
But plz dont stick more things in my wheels:)

There has been a lot of Dev/DM activity as of late.....which is always nice to see. Just a few thoughts.

- Lets keep it civil.....Mining Monk no longers plays tagged toons from the TC/NC, as he is now a developer. We all know that this change is something all of the devs/dms have agreed upon. MM has a genuine interest in the health of the NS server. Please, lets refrain from the personal shots.

- We all agree.....AO jobs are very much needed, and it sounds as if they are coming soon. I, for one, believe the staff when they promise this.

- Mamba, Tru3......I wouldn't want to see either of you players leave the server, as I enjoy fighting against both of you.....good fights last night Mamba, you played really well. Take a few hours, days, whatever....consider the changes, and post feedback. I am sure all advice will be considered. The player base is one of the perks of this server...please, keep that in mind.

- Thanks for the testing and feedback Bargeld. Constructive feedback is what the Devs need.

First off, I logged in my wizard to see how things faired with the new changes. My first impression was that level 9, level 8, and level 5 bigbies duration was to short. Level 6 I have not explored much yet, but initial reaction was wow that is going to be an affective spell.

Second, I was not pleased with the old bigbies and voiced my dissatisfaction in game regarding it whenever faced a mage or sorc. The duration of old level 9 bigbies was to long and was a "I win" button. I thought the duration could have been toned down, perhaps a no duration as an instant affect lasting x rounds instead of how long it used to last (something akin to how the current stonehold works).

I agree NS4 is supposed to be a player vs player server which we are supposed to have a chance of killing each other. Old level 9 bigbies did not allow that and if you look at how it worked objectively I think you'd agree old level 9 was overpowered. Out of all my builds only 2 had a chance at suceeding that save, they are a monk and a pure cleric.

With the new, I believe for one the duration on lvl 5, and 9 should be extended. Level 9 seems to need more effects since it is a level 9 spell; as being such should represent the pinicale of the wizard/sorc understanding of arcane magic. Perhaps add to the level 9 bigbies a speed penalty for example: speed decrease 10% if caster has no focus, 15% if focused, 20% if greater and 25% if epic in evocation. Since level 9 bigbies can not be extended this spell should in my humble opinion receive the greatest duration increase.

Thank you for taking the time to review and update the server. As I face arcane magic more than I use it, am looking forward to see how encounters fair in the future (pvm as well as pvp).

Additional:

Perhaps lvl 9 (new) could also have a damage componet similar to lvl 6 in addition to ac decrease. Name implies crushing would would involved some damage. Adding damage componet would also be in line with a level 9 being the pinicale of the wizards craft.

Edited 5 level bigbies instead of 7th .. got them confused.

well, considering my fully focused 35/5 caster gets a hole whopping -4ac to that 84 ac cot
thats really awesome for the show stopping lvl 9 spell
again, i'm not wasting my time on these Nerfs
have better things to do
cant say for the other 6 or 7 people that was on comms last night that didnt log in
but i'm thru at this point

Yes, a 20% greater chance to hit is very much tiny for a caster. Your showstopping meteor swarm is also *amazing*.
