Seriously guys, quit chugging in pvp.

I consider myself to be pretty reasonable, but this chugging and heal kitting in pvp is ruining my fun, and I'm reaching my breaking point here. Just a now, I had to log out and take a break in frustration in the middle of a raid. There are two options. I am either going to quit, or more likely, start taking names and blackballing chuggers from my parties. I know I'm not the only one that has noticed, but activity has been down on the server lately, and both of those options would probably just contribute to the death of our server.

I know this is another chugging post, but you know, we probably see these so much because it really is a problem.

Look at NS3.5. Clerics there don't mem heal spells, they just chug pots. Nobody dies unless they run out of pots. I mean, really?

We can already make toons that are hardly never going to die.

I mean, the real problem here is DWDs. KD immune, saves all in the high 50s (60+ fort) and enough DI/DR to be literally untouchable by melee builds that don't do obscene amounts of elemental or unresistable damage.

Where the hell is the counter there?

You can't stop it from moving. The only thing that can reasonably kill it is a cleric or a mage spamming high damage spells on it. And even then... If a pure cleric preps it with NEP or UEF, what on earth can defenders do to it?

I mean, I guess Pelor could take him down over the course of a few rounds.

I wouldn't mind it if potions and kits where just nerfed to total crap all around to balance them for pvp. We can let everyone depend on clerics for real healing. For high end planar runs, people rarely drink potions if there is a good cleric or two there anyways. It would just make day-to-day leveling a little harder.

Thats true. Of course, the best way to do it would be you get 500 HP every 5 rounds [from potions and scrolls]. If you need more than that, you're a little screwed anyway.

Edit: Also, I forgot. Stop saying that you can disable the DWD; because you can't. There's literally nothing that can be done. As opposed to a cleric that you can silence, KD, stun, Hellball, Fighter KD, kill with sneaks... etc.

don't dwd's have crap ac? and aren't they still vulnerable to crits. as well as have crap ab....?

as far as pots go, lvling with pots working as they do now, is hard as is.....especially if you are going solo. at lvl 36 my pally can't go anywhere by himself unless he has a whole stack of pots. make places easier if your gonna reduce the effectiveness of pots. I really don't wanna be drawing a monster at a time for about 36 xp per kill. exaggeration but still. I would even be good for raising the xp yield of monsters.

Chugging spoils the fun of pvp. I think it's bigger problem than venge logging and not waiting for 30 min to change raiders, both of which are not allowed.

By saying that, I don't know how to solve it completely. Maybe just disallow pots and kits in areas near the temple. Or just allow the use of the weakest pots and +1 kits, so that lowbies can lvl with not so many problems.

Don't potions become less potent as you chug them? I think they're something like 40% efficiency after a few.

sure do, although i think the lowest ive seen was 150hp from full heals, then it sticks to that level. might have gone lower i cant remember but once it got to that low point it stayed constant

Is it possible to limit effectives of Greater restoration scrolls too?

Just make them remove negative effects and disable healing element if used from scroll.
