Marathon Event

I was talking with some of the players on the server tonight about possible ideas for an event. The idea that seemed most favourable was a marathon event.

The rules are simple

1. Closed event, outside interference of any kind from players will be immediately banned.
2. Any player/s pvp'in within the party will be requested to leave, failure to do so will get the player/s banned.
3. Players wishing to be in the event will have to create a 1st lvl toon, and post a reply below.

Any other rules including the date and time (as long as it doesn't interfere with events already running) I'll leave up to those wishing to be in the event.

sounds like he's talking about making a first lvl char..everyone starts at the same time, then lvling it to 40...non stop, first to 40 wins? no outside buffs from high lvls

Other rules like "should everyone start with the ecl" or "should SDs, and cleric builds not be allowed" or "should one map, or multiple maps be used" etc. I'll leave up to the players

I'd suggest no favoured class/ECL0 at the same time characters. Makes it too easy to level.

If it's a competition to get to 40 first then a non ecl that gets favored class bonus every lvl is heavily favored to win.

If it's a race to 40 for ecl's only then a ecl 1 build that gets favored class bonus every lvl is heavily favored to win.

If it's a race to 40 for ecl 2's and 3's only then an ecl 2 build that gets favored class bonus every lvl is heavily favored to win.

If it's a race to 40 for ecl 3's only then it gets interesting.

Twig votes... Do it Sunday start like 9am EST so that its still daylight for Europen players

...but no slackers. if your not attacking you provide consistnat support

...forum voting for MVP(kills), Most Likly to Die, and MVP (support)

I'm in, though a "first to 40 wins" event seems a little odd to me since there are very obvious ways to play that system if you are really looking to win, as people have already stated. I'm not really sure what it should be though.

As for timing, Saturdays are best for me.

I am in. And why would I want to get to 40 1st when I can lvl ecl3 toon that is a pain to lvl instead? Also, will we need to have gear upgrades prepared?

small adjustment.. the two MVP as stated...

and a Most likley catagory where each voting player can nominate a catagory and all players can add thier support to one or more catagories suggested by another player, while still suggestiong thier own...

where in the end of tally.. the catagory with the most support makes the grade..

so that up to three toons, one MVP combat, MVP support and Most Likely to wins the prise deamed worthy by the *kisses butt now* Mighty Brandobaris the Scamp.
