Welcome to "Blood Sport"

Post by Chaos »

Standings:
TC/NC = 3 bloodstains
  • MVP =Nyhm [FoN]
MA/SL =152 bloodstains
  • MVP =Xaltos
AO/RK =1
  • MVP =Jughead
This event is a bit like Defender Of The Relic.

A couple twist though. We go on a point system, that we only tally at the end of the event. Also relics aren't the only things that matter

Blood Splats. . .

At the end of the event we get the blood splat count in their relic rooms and the map next to relic room(no other areas matter), an then we add in relics (which are worth 10 "splats" each). So at the end of the event whoever has the most splats will win.

Rules - (New rules may be added before the time of event as discussion goes and eyes open)

1. No killing same faction or friendly faction in relic room. (No raiding friendly faction)
2. No dual logging
3. Level 35+ event. (we don't want someone running a level 1 into the relic room just to get killed to up the splat count.

Notes:
1. If you pick up a relic: Only take to friendly faction to cap. No picking up with SL and taking to AO so they can cap it, SL would only be able to drop it off in MA or SL. Dropping to friendly faction so they can cap it is fine.

Like i said, rules are subject to change until we get close to the event. So be sure to take a look at them again before the event starts.

Date: 8/14/10 so we still have plenty of time to go over things.
Time: what works best for you? I'd like to see 8PM to midnight Eastern time. but i can do any time on Saturday. so if you have a specific time go ahead and add that in your comment.

While I know we just ended the relic war this is just a test run that I am going to go with. Ultimately we want to see this be a server wide event but to kick things off we are going with 1 alliance at a time each week.

1st defending alliance will be chosen by poll and then those factons will then be able to choose which of the two locations they want to defend.

Relics that you start with are up to you to gather right before go time. THIS MEANS IF YOU RAID BEFORE EVENT AND HAVE 7 RELICS. . YOU START WITH 7 RELICS. . YOU DON'T RAID AND START WITH ZERO, YOU HAVE ZERO.

Then the PVP begins. :)

One thing bothers me though. Defenders dieing create blood spats too. So It would make people go in without armors and stuff like that.

well if defenders die too much, they will lose their relics. . then the other people will have no excuse to go to that defenders area anymore. . therefore they will not get any more bloodsplats.

Also, MA is at a disadvantage for this type of event due to the size/layout of their secondary map. Defense in MA tends to happen over the 3 or 4 closest maps, and often out to the plains/wastes. SL is similar since there are A LOT of ways into menzo and scouting is required in order to really defend well... but not quite as bad as MA as the center of the city provides for a better battlefield than the area outside garagoth tower of sorcery. The 'new' NC is kinda iffy also... haven't done much fighting there to say one way or the other, but it is definately not like AO/RK/TC/LA, which are all wide open outside the relic rooms.

The relic rooms themselves lend a lot to this too, as most of the fights in TC tend to be in the city since the cradle room is the size of a dwarfs brain (how those druid dragons fit in there, i don't know;)) AO and RK are similar. MA is the opposite... most raiders just run into the relic room and run around in there. In an event like this, the dynamic between the two areas are a big deal.

SL maps will probably offer the best battles, as both are pretty big.

The reason for not just the relic room is some relic rooms are kind of small and most people would want to do the fighting outside of the relic room or like to defeat the enemy before they even get a chance to get to the relic room. . i understand that MA and SL like to take it a step further and kill them before they even get into the city limits ;) but there are still good choke points in the city also that can be used, especially in MA *hint hint*.

Well that is more the way we like to play defence than say the layout we like to run out and try and attack the attackers before they attack in as it keeps the streets of Garagoth clean but I suppose we could live with the mess this once but I am not cleaning it up!

The only thing I don't understand is the poll. I thought this event would include all 3 alliances? :?

The poll was to define which faction/alliance would be the first up to plate.

Eventually its hoped that this will be a server wide event all at once. At this point this is a test run that one alliance at a time will compeat.

That is to say that so far NC/TC is going to be first "at bat" What this means is that this Sat at 8pm EST NC/TC will have chosen which faction loc they want to defend. (hopefully they will have planned ahead and grabbed most if not all the relics to prepare). For the next 4 hours they must defend those relics and keep as many as possible and retrive any that are lost againsed the rest of the server. At the end of the 4 hours the relics will be counted up and granted 10 points for each relic still in the cradle. A count of how many Blood stains both in the relic room and the map directly outside of the relic room will be counted towards the total and posted.

The next week one of the two remaininf alliances will be up to bat and repeat the process.

After the three weeks the winner will be the faction that accumulated the most points overall.

Greetings he who creates reality with a thought!

will lower level toons be allowed to spot and harass enemies outside the city area?

Fury only has a single lvl 35, but would sure like to be part of the action!

I would prefer not to have that allowed. . I see this going one way. . The lowbie goes to spy, lets say 3 maps away, they get killed. . they respawn. . at this point most of the factions have the lowbie respawning in a map where they will walk out and get killed on a map that is counting towards bloodsplats. . if this happens we have to manually keep track of how many times the lowbie has been killed and not to count those at the end of the event.

There is still time for discussion. Nothing is set in stone, i would like to hear others opinion on this.

Noooooo... You have it all wrong. The DMz being out of LA and having no allies, as well as having access to uber toons wouldn't be fair. So we'd just help the faction/alliance who's turn it is :D Which could be either a good thing, or a bad thing depending on our mood
