I've been reading the summons guide and it mentions that wiz/sorc/PM undead summons are helped by Spell Focus necro, Gtr. Spell Focus necro, and Epic Spell Focus necro. Similar for conjuration based summoning for their summons. I would assume that because caster specialization is not mentioned at all, it does nothing w.r.t. summons.
I suppose this is a dual post: both a question and as a minor suggestion.
Does the wiz or sorc school specialization help the undead summons with necro spec / conjured summons with conj. spec?
As a really low priority suggestion, it would be nice to get at least a tiny tiny bump in summon power from this (20 HP? anything at all?). I only mention it because anyone can take a feat without having much of a penalty at all. So, taking the spell focus feats is great and very low cost for summoners.
However, for a specialist, they lose access to an entire spell school. For example, a necro spec would give up all divination and lose Premonition, True seeing, See invis, the lore/ID spells, etc. There is a very real price there. Just seems the feats could give less and the spec could give more. In this sense, it seems the specialist pays a bit of a higher price and it would be great for them to get just a little something for it w.r.t. summons.

specialists get nothing and it gets complicated
Re: Wizard Necro Spec: does anything for summons?
Cool. I assumed they didn't get anything. Nice to know for sure, thanks for the response!Amoenotep wrote:specialists get nothing and it gets complicated
I am a little confused by the "it gets complicated" part, but that's cool. I assume if you wanted to elaborate you would have ; )

Man... Now you have me all curious, lol. If you're ever bored and need something to do (like that ever happens), I'd love to hear all about how it's complicated. I want to stress that there is no complaint, just me being curious.Amoenotep wrote:specialists get nothing and it gets complicated

There's no script function to query it. Could be done with semi-outside game tools (LETO), but huge hassle to write that and debug it.

What sized donation would be needed to make this sort of a change a priority worth looking at? I'm all for giving some good donation money if it means some of the features I like get looked at...
Let me know if you think this is a feature that could be paid for.
