About SR
Hello, I wasn't here for long time so I don't know but I want to know if SR still works. If I want to have just pure monk with very high SR if all casters can beat me or not.

Re: About SR
what I remember - they changed and even you had SR 70 still enemy casters were able to kill you because you needed higher saving throws

Re: About SR
afaik the only way they might have been able to hit you is by hitting you with a mord to drop your spell resistance.
They can't target you directly and have it work, but if they use it as an aoe it will drop your SR by ?15 or 10? Can't remember off the top of my head.
I'm going off what my brother told me, he had a pure monk with an SR of 60 prewipe. So even if you have 70 SR, a pure caster with epic spell penetration rolling a 46 will be able to hit you with spells if your SR has been reduced. His odds are still severely reduced, but it can happen.

Re: About SR
I'm pretty sure monk SR cannot be lowered... not even by the breach spells or Mords. This is probably because its a hardcoded ability. Subrace SR (Githyanki, Drow, etc.) however can be reduced, as can SR from the Spell Resistance spell.

Re: About SR
Carefull, there are spells that have no respect for SR. Ice Storm and Melf's Acid Arrow are 2 off the top of my head.

Re: About SR
The bigby line up is also one known to kill due to it ignoring SR.

Re: About SR
For some reason bigby also does not respect concealment, even though they make attacks and according to the spell are a seperate entity like a summon. And strangely enough the 1 summon limit is not conisdered with bigby.

Re: About SR
its a fire/forget summon....after teh initial casting you have no more to do with it. regular summons you control for several rounds after you have casted them.
if you could make bigby change targets and follow you around....it'd fall into the 1 summon limit

Re: About SR
while we're whining about bigby, I've always wished WoF would work on them like they do other summons. However, I never brought it up because it sounds like it could be a scripting mess. But in the interest of hijacking this thread for a thread about bigsby . . . ;P

I understand why it doesnt, though still seems strange, since the same focus that help bigby also helps certain summons . . . summon a beastie, blast a bigby, and pound away. wizzies do need something though ';)
Still dont understand why bigby blows through concealment though, since at one point I think the devs said when they test areas its designed to be tested with concealment in mind. . . making bigby the trump card in that department.

Why would I want to count 12 hours twice? I’m perfectly capable of counting to 24, and while we’re at it, can someone go shoot named time zones. GMT+x is all we need!

Re: About SR
Yeah I would agree, if you havent used EDodge in that round it should avoid it. No reason that bigby should be help above the rules that everything else abides by. though from the post Lokey made, it wouldnt be fun to factor and then code
