Earth genasi tokens and epic dmg reduction

I was recently told that the genasi token and epic dmg reduc do not stack. I am fairly certain that they did pre wipe, has this changed?

If it doesn't know, it probably didn't before... unless Bioware changed it in 1.69.

There's a bug that was always there but seems worse now (NWN bug).

Suspect there might be a stealth change to damage reduction...I tend not to use those spells but I'll get around to checking it.

Happens to my Dwarven Defenders Damage reduction from time to time to
after a reset it will return

A mages epic warding will also do the same thing fyi
Had a person have that happen to them as well

As a new player to the server, I was actually going to ask a question in regards to the Earth Genasi lvl 40 racial ability. How effective will it be at level 40? Both CvC wise and PvM.
Also, does Barbarian or Shadow Dancer Dmg reduction stack with Earth Genasi?

Currently planning a Monkbuild and want to know if the Racial bonus is worth the penalty in ECL.

last i checked epic dr did NOT stack with genasi dr post wipe. somebody else tested this and confirmed it. i have not tested it in the past few weeks. as of now do NOT use earth genasi class to help you qualify for epic dr feats via the +2 con boost... you WILL be disappointed! it will take the better of the 2.. and since genasi dr tops out at 10 and feats at 9...

i dont recall if it stacked pre wipe or not. pre wipe the genasi dr was so much greater than the epic dr feat line at high levels that it could easily have gone by unnoticed.

any dr is decently effective in melee combat, both pvm and pve. adds good survival, especially in crowds. but be warned that without good AC to accompany it, dr by itself is a losing proposition long term. unless you are reducing incoming damage to zero, you will eventually go down (faster if you're getting critted and incoming damage includes non physical types (edit: but you CAN reach near zero incoming damage vs lightweight dexers with no extra damage sources)). so dont rely on it as your sole means of support (ie. 2hander). either combine it with good ac or incredible offense to finish the other guy before he finishes you. there are several well established ways to bypass dr. even without those ways i routinely trounce top shelf max dr builds using brute force.

that being said it will definitely prolong your lifespan in combat, so make sure you do something worthy with that time!

Earth gen can still be pretty sweet, however, especially a pure fighter. Just dont take EDR

Ok I have a toon that will take the epic feats taht reduce dmg from various elemental types, (earth gen ftr/pm) is this what ur talking about, is it a waste to take the epic pm elem. dmg red feats w/ a earth gen pm?

energy resists are never wasted....damge reduction apparently doesn't stack with earth gen.

Not sure about energy resists, but i have a L30 eg pure fighter with Epic Damage Reduction III, and there's no damage reduction (at least in the battle log) from the feats. This makes me sad

as far as i know all the energy resist feats are fine & working as you would expect (and have nothing to do with the earth genasi token issue).

I recently started an Earth Genasi fighter, and the (non-epic) resist energy feats never appear in the list when I level up. The only prerequisite is a base fort save of +8 and my fighter's unbuffed and unequipped fort save is currently +17, but I never get the option of selecting that feat. I see Resist Disease and Resist Poison in the list, but not Resist Energy. Have I missed reading something somewhere saying Genasi's can't take the Resist Energy feat?

If your fighter is a pure fighter then you would get your base fort save of +8 at 12th lvl. If your past that lvl then you may have to wait till a non fighter feat lvl to look for it as it may not be a fighter bonus feat. Other than that thought I'm not really sure, hopefully someone has an idea to help ya.

The character is a 17th level Earth Genasi pure fighter. When I have the choice of a general feat, (not a fighter bonus feat), I see Resist Disease and Resist Poison in the list, but not Resist Energy. Does their racial feature of 50% acid damage reduction preclude them from taking additional energy resistances?
