Revenge - Dual logging
Revenge - Dual logging
Commandment # V:
Thou shalt not relog any character to exact revenge on a lost PvP fight, whether higher or lower in level than your original character. In the case of defending your faction city, this will be allowed if you do not change the faction of your original character. Relogging a character is not allowed in order to raise fallen comrades if the area around the bodies is still in the midst of active PvP involving the same players that killed you or your party.
It has been established that the Definition of Revenge Logging will be when a player's character gets PK'd and they log that character off then log back immediately with a higher or lower level character and go after the one who PK'd them. This is forbidden. It could get a player banned.
In order to keep things exciting, it was further established that a player must wait 30 minutes before switching to a different higher or low leveled character to hunt down the PKer, unless they seek permission from the PKer over shout, to wave that 30 minute time frame.
This same rule applies to the raiding of relics whether or not the raider got PK'd. (Defenders can change characters when defending as needed) Once a player starts to raid with one character they are locked into 30 minute clock. In other words, you stat an attack with character A discover it is not good enough for that particular raid and wish to switch character B, you must remove yourself from any area being used in the "raid" - PvP, wait 30 minutes or log off with character A, log on with Character B, wait 30 minutes before entering into areas where relic raiding PvP is taking place. That includes any area that the relic has been run into and chased by defenders.
UNLESS, permission is given and the 30 minute rule is waved by the defending faction over the Shout channel.
We're all pretty clear on this and for the most part we all follow this rules. Now comes the part where it gets interesting. Dual Logging.
Some are of the opinion that they can log in a second character by dual logging without logging out the first, claiming that they are not Revenge Logging because the new character logged in is a new character and the old one is still in play....
OR and this I fine cute, they run a raid with character A, get PK'd, run part way back with character A park, then dual-log on Character B, run character B into the raid and steal the relic, run to where character A is parked, drop the relic off character B and have character A pick it up and run with it. WRONG.
This is just a twist to Revenge Logging. With fine folks getting 2 or 3 computers and accounts to play multiple characters at the same time, the rules are expanded to include dual/triple logging situations, whether or not the original character has logged off or is still in game.
Players who Dual Log for solo play are well known to us and most players. Their activities are watched. I warn extreme caution. There are a number of people who do play through a Lan and appear to be Dual Logged. We know who these fine folks are as well.
Please do not put DM's in a position of having to deal dual logging situations. You may not like the results. Please do NOT twist the rules.
For players who believed that they have witnessed a Revenge Logging or a Dual Revenge Logging, take Screen Shots of your Combat Log and send them to a DM for investigation.

Re: Revenge - Dual logging
Does it count if you dual log and pk your other account's toon?
I agree though, dual logging for vengeful purposes is bad mojo and is quite lame.

Re: Revenge - Dual logging
Well since most people who dual log already have 2 high level toons in when they are pvping this is really a moot point. As they dont need to log anyting out or in. Just join the fight. I agree with Kim though dont do stupid stuff and you should be alright.

Re: Revenge - Dual logging
Is it venge logging if your second toon is already logged in and then you pk someone? Say you are dual logging and Toon A is PK'd and Toon B is one map away, is it ok then? I see dual logging being like in a party and sending a tell except it is to yourself and mentally.

I put the IO in socIOpath!

Re: Revenge - Dual logging
Here's how to look at that scenario. What would you do if you had only 1 computer?
Dual solo logging is not like being in party, it's solo dual logging. Your still only 1 person.
Same rules apply. For defenders in a raid, they have more grace with logging, dual or otherwise. While raiders don't, same goes for non raiding PvP.
That would also apply to using your second PC to rez te one tat got PK and then going back after the PKer.
I would suggest that dual logging solo players turn off one computer during any event or raid (unless defending) and just play it safe. Out in the wilds where things can happen, play it as if you had only 1 computer.

Re: Revenge - Dual logging
Korr and Alk if your gunna call me out you better have some proof. Everyone and their grandma knows i dual log its no secret. When i pvp its usualy against the people i am in team speak with and we laugh about while its going on. All rules are followed at all times including relogging. Just because a hipser crashes me 9000 times does not mean i am switching toons.
Oh and did i post anything against dual loggin? dont think so. If however you care for my opinion it is this. Stop crying about not being able to focus 1 toon aswell as i can focus 3 and find yourself another server if you dont care for pvp in all legit and rule abiding forms.
Done.
Back on topic thank you Kim for setting the record strait. When i raid i will make sure not to break the 30 min relog rule with any of my logins as i have always done unless the party i am fighting against has shouted their approval of me doing so as you stated was ok.

Hey, as long as it fills every inventory slot and all coffers, Heavily Encumbered is Heavily Encumbered.

Re: Revenge - Dual logging
Feel free to load up Ribreaker if you catch him, he can only carry 19,000 lbs.
