An Opinion on the New Index
An Opinion on the New Index
I appreciate all the work that goes into our forums.
"However"... *giggles*
I'm not fussy about the new Board index. I kind of liked to be able to scan all the forum sections in one sweep instead of just getting a small over view and then having to open the topic to see if it's something I might be interested in reading, particularly when it comes down to the Guild or Faction forums.
Does anyone else have an opinion on the new Index format?

Agreed. As retaliation, I bookmarked the "View New Posts" page.

Indeed, still working on the layout. Give us time...
In the meantime, you do realize that if you click on the NS4 category heading, you get a view that's almost precisely what the NS4 forums looked like before all this started, don't you?

Reason why we're doing this is that there's a lot more forums in there that you're not seeing yet...will help to keep things much more organized.

Why would I want to count 12 hours twice? I’m perfectly capable of counting to 24, and while we’re at it, can someone go shoot named time zones. GMT+x is all we need!

Re: An Opinion on the New Index
The old ones were horrible too - all stretched out and using the wrong image dimensions...
There's some better packages out there - just gotta find out how to use the image sets with the custom stylesheets we've got going now.
Also, we're in need of a new banner up top - perhaps with some integrated navigation. If anyone wants to take up the mantle and try some things, we'd be open to it. Preferably something that spans all of the NS content that's represented on the site - NS3, NS4, and NS5 (the latter being more difficult to display at the moment a'course).

Re: An Opinion on the New Index
What I've done is bookmark that addy you posted. Using FireFox I hit it and log in on that screen. The new index opens on log-in then I open a new tab and hit the bookmark a second time.. Presto.. back to what I am familiar with.. Works great plus I have the new index in a screen if I need it or want to see who's on forums.
Perhaps having addys that can be bookmarked and set up similar to what I'm doing now will make it handy for those who need them.

Yep, we're going to have tabs/dropdowns all along the top that will let you filter the NS forums in various ways, depending on what interests you in NS...
