Any way to rig the drop to have a reduced/none percentage when the toons CD key is new to server like under 60-90 days?

I think that would allow the 'gods' to continue to toy with the established mortals, while giving the server a chance to hook new players into the population.

I vote that we make so that you have to be a year before you can use the dragons that way you actually have to learn where your going on the server

Our Devs are generally awesome, and I appreciate very much the work that's put in to NS4, but I really have to say this one is a real miss. It has a clearly negative effect on the playing experience.
I'm sensitive to this type of thing, but there's a lot of grind now. I can think of a few "casual" players that only stop in occasionally and have made the high 30s in levels...and might even be having some fun...

I'm not wondering if making the air dragons hostile after being attacked was a mistake. Now they are always there. Folks don't want to lose their riding privileges.

Raiders or defenders of relics would kill them off as a tactic. No more, instead we have the "falling off". Maybe Dev's should take away the falling off and allow dragons to be killed off instead?

i have intentionally resisted the use of the dragons except to get to places to join a party as quickly as possible. I have also done the exploration thing, which in my mind is useless for either gold, items or xp other than mapping the world. So, please, return us to the way it was... killing dragons as a tactic and safe rides for those in need.

People still do kill the dragons some times. Mainly it's just griefers who log on immediately after a reset and kill every dragon. They don't use it as a tactic to stop raiders necessarily they just do it to be a pain. These people use dump toons that the faction doesn't matter on so being hostile makes no difference to them. But that's fine it's part of the game.

I don't see why we couldn't make the dragons respawn like every other mob in the game. Whether it is a half hour or an hour or five minutes. This way it could still be used as a anti-raider tactic and people could grief with it if they wanted as well without having as detrimental an effect as it now does. If someone does it now at the midnight (EST) reset then they won't be back again until 9 hours later. This 9 hour period is a core time for overseas players who have to suffer the consequences.

Another option would be to beef up the dragons. If you remove the faction but make them equivalent to a CR 30 toon (with a CR 0.25 so as to keep people from exploiting the exp) then it could still be used as a raiding/defending tactic but with more difficulty. I also like Azeel's suggestion of when you attack one dragon, the other 3 show up to aid them.

Anyway, these are just some suggestions.

They already beefed up the dragons and kept the cr .025 xp.

I think the fact that the staff generally shrug off ungracious comments like this one, despite everything they do FOR FREE, shows that they don't have fragile egos. What have YOU done, besides play on their server FOR FREE? I'm sure WoW and Everquest are bug-free - you can always go there.
Jeez. I appreciate what they've done. I'd be playing somewhere else if I didn't. I've played on many servers and this is by far the best one I've ever come across.

I love the DM and Dev involvement in this game. I actually find your respose understandable rereading my comment, so I apologise if my original comment was taken in the wrong way. Really, I do.

i vote we take the dragons out, then maybe some of you will learn what NS4 is and how many maps you dont know.YOU DO NOT need the dragons to travel. the killing of a dragon does NOT stop you from lvling. get over it. find something else to cry about this is getting boring
