So last night we had a party going and 2-3 players were invited by 2-3 friends and everyone arrrived to fight some monsters.

Thing is, everyone claimed to be of a certain level, but the XP wasn't adding up to that. So what we have now is a player who wants in on a good party and simply lies about his level. Don't even know who it was, because we can't check and there were 6 people in the party.

Sounds like Tyr secretly wants to be Lolth, because that is most assuredly a Lolth like thought.

No Lolth followers would have ulterior motives, like 'that one's skull would look great on my mantle,' or 'Pureed Svirfneblin intestine make a great medium for Drow poison' things like that. Tyr just demands that all followers ensure that no laws are broken. What better way to do that than eliminate any and all potential lawbreakers?!

Well I did use the list to see what friends were on, what levels were on and it allowed me to figure out who was most likely to find a party. I have indeed seen people exploiting other players but that is rare. Despite other claims above I was told the first day of the change by one of the Devs that he didn't like other people being able to copy his builds so he put this change in.

I thought about that one a while. Maybe the DMs Devs and DD will think about that too. Maybe Metagaming by the players isn't the problem.
Vastly confused

Yup, I think most of us assume that's the real reason this got changed. It's especially dumb because which levels of what a toon is is only a portion of a build. I haven't heard a single person voice support (in-game) for this change except the "now people can't copy me" line.

I'm still annoyed by this change every day. It was so nice to be able to log on, see how many/which players of a certain level are on, and then choose which toon to play for the day. Now I log on, and whether or not I can find a party is random. People have started listing every toon they have and trying to pick between responses to know which invite to take.

It's frustrating as hell to settle into a slow mismatched 2 man party for hours, just to find out you missed a great one at a different level.

FWIW, I don't have a single positive thing to say about this change. Sorry to gripe on it, but it needs said. I wish this poll had been set up to make a disticntion between those who support the change, and those who "don't care"..

I for one have grown to like this change. For one you have to learn the weeknesses of a build if you whant to beat it. In the past, when someone raided, Id logout, look at playerlist to see what build was raiding, and quickly log the toon most apropriate for dealing sviftly with the atacking toon. In adition, you can make bilds now that would if char sheet where visible have some wery aparent weeknesses, but that can be hidde in evry day play so players dont know about it...
Best Regards

Why would I want to count 12 hours twice? I’m perfectly capable of counting to 24, and while we’re at it, can someone go shoot named time zones. GMT+x is all we need!

Ok and that makes a toon useful for what, 2-4 raids till one person figures it out and tell all his guildmates?

I have come to like this change too its fun to figure out what someone is building without just knowing. The detect alignment tokens are a bit more usefull now too.

Perhaps we can get a dairy function to list the levels of the players on the server, but not their classes. So we can figure out whos playing what level but dont know anything else about them?
