As a newb to NS4 I have not been PK'd on NS4. I have not been pickpocketed on NS4. (This is not to announce open season on BlackHeart.. :) ) Nor have I seen any of this going on. But then again I am not really looking for it either.

Personally I play NWN for fun and PvP of any kind, pickpocketing included, is not necessarily fun for me, so I tend to avoid it if posible. But I do understand that some people enjoy PvP and I have watched over the past couple of years and the servers that seems to have the "best luck" with PvP do have some fairly strict rules about PvP. Typically those rules state that there must be prior communication between the combatants, and there must be a neutral observer to the combat (typically a DM but could be some one both of the combatants believe to be fair). Fail ure to abide by those simple rules typically envokes punishment of some sort. I would think that NS4 would want to come up with some rules or guide lines to reduce the amount of complaining that the DM's had to deal with.

Nothing is being forced. This is the way this mod was built. If you play here you are going to have to accept this. It is a PvP mod. Learn how to better yourself as a player to deal with PvP. There are ways to avoid it. Don't be the weak minded player and learn those builds that can defend yourself. Play with a party, don't go it alone.

It's a new mod, with new ideas and a new way to play. Embrace the challenge in front of you.

I challenge each one of you to find a build and a party to play with that can stand up to the hostle player... you can do it, I know you can.
Play in a party? Surely you can do better than that as a DM. A level 15-20 can kill 10 or 20 level 2s just as easily as he can 1. Plus, I've noticed you get substantially LESS xp the more people who join your party, even with the party synergy bonus. Kind of takes any reason for joining a party and throws it out the window if you can solo the area you hunt in.

Try again.

I'm sure you didn't mean to sound this disrespectful.

Anyway, sure a level 15 could kill 20 level 2s, but what about 5 level 10s? Yet a lone level 10 would be pretty easy. And if you are getting less exp, its because you are staying in the area you could solo, try taking on a harder/bigger area. Go some place you couldn't solo yourself. Then you'll get better exp, better drops, and more enjoyment out of your gaming. I mean seriously, if you were say fighting goblins solo, and you get a party of 4 others, and you still fight goblins, WHY should you get more exp? But your party of 5 low level characters can now probably take on orcs, or bandits, or undead, which should net you far more exp.

Just for clarification,

NS3 South rules are not being imposed onto NS4..

NS3 South rules were created to provide players with a chance to get used to the type of play allowed on NS4..

Believe it or not.. South was one of the most friendly.. fun.. exciting NS3 servers out there.. We didn't start having any real problems until we integrated other servers (out of kindness) that did not want to play by South's rules...

so no.. South rules are not being imposed on NS4.. a modified (to make applicable to a single faction mod) version of NS4 rules was placed on South..
