I believe it was broke in the sense you could drink hundred of potions without killing yourself of overdose or extreme kidney failure...Ryddwillow wrote:Was it broke before? If it isn't broke it does not need to be fixed.I don't understand. Could you explain a bit more?

Haven't read much, but adding pots to heal a certain % of total hp on a target seems fair as well.
Nothing like a Heal X Pot = 80% health returned, but a range.
Low = 0-20%
Med = 20-40%
High = 40-60%
Very High = 60-80%
Best = 75-90%
Have those in addition to the regular heals.
The diminishing returns is a good idea. I would have preferred Diablo2 style pots that would give massive regen (in addition to gear/spells). But, the theory of the current system seems logical, will have to hop on and try sometime.

Don't try and use Real World Logic why? I admit that the Fantasy Character are obviously going to be rather stronger and, well, epic in a sense. But everyone have their limits at some limit.Lorkar1 wrote:Are heals going to drop now? I have yet to see one.
How bout making the heals that drop and crafted 100% and have diminishing returns on the store bought ones.
As far as drinking ones self to death with them, don't try and use RW logic in a fantasy setting you will be disappointed every time.

Because whose to say that the potions don't evaporate as they heal or absorb the damage. So there would be no over imbibing.P. Fricebottle wrote:Don't try and use Real World Logic why? I could understand that logic in a rp server, but no one is really in character, or cares about RW effects on their toon in an action server. Your supposed to be able to tank through almost everything with however potions ya need. Otherwise I hear Arabel is taking players. Try to get above lvl 10 there.P. If you want to keep the current effect, I think it would be nice if they were spaced out more. My strength half ogre ftr/wm gets a good return on two potions after that, he's done. The other day i was in a party with a mage and another hitter both of whom went down in the water plane. I was able to just barely run to a safe area before resting and coming back and saving my pals. A level 37 hitter had to run from a puny water sprite, a sahaugin baron, and somethin else purely because I couldn't heal anymore at all. This will only force parties to make sure they include clerics in their parties. That's all fine and dandy unless you already have limited time to play. Then you have to be lucky enough to be leveling your high level character when there is another high lvl healer on at the same time. Kind of limits how much a person can do IMO and makes for alot of frustration for those who only get to play for an hour to two hours here and there. I do believe that the planar areas should be difficult and I do like the idea of limiting pot chugging, but I think it should be tweaked to give people a few more heals with decent hp returns. As it stands it takes Ajax two full heal potions to get from "near death" to full health anyway. In a fight against a boss, he's pretty much useless without a cleric or druid to heal him. I don't think that forcing planar parties to have a cleric or druid with them should be the intent of the change.
Overall I think it should be removed entirely, it takes too much from the game for characters who have limited or no healing ability. I can understand Ebenezer's post about people chugging heals as he's slammin em with spells. That would be frustrating. However if you want to limit pot chugging in pvp action then make it a server rule that you can't chug pots in pvp. If the intent was to limit pot chugging in pvm, then . . . good job?
