buffing someone else's characters without asking ?

I can see your point bongoblue, paranoia is such a wonderfully invigorating emotion! I will always render assistance to whomever I see that needs it, regardless of faction, rating or *okie* . But I follow a guideline:

1: Check to ensure my *Will* is up to date,

2: Pray,

3: Pray again just in case Deity was asleep,

4: Move in for the kill.......oops....buff!,

5: Pray ,

6: Recheck aforementioned Will,

7: Unleash FoD.....oops...I mean *Buff....,

8: Pray once more in case Deity was using ablution facilities,

9: Run my a** off in opposite direction.

These few simple guidelines have ensured my continued survival.

Pfft no sweat, just use the see-invis exploit (which is a bio bug and nobody seems able to fix it so i aint sharing it kthxbai... unless you're a dm and you PM me with threats to burn down my house, in which case I'll happily spill the beans) and ress away....

Yeah, invis'd a friendly body just for kicks, and the person rez'ing had no prob seeing. Was going to purge it anyway, but oh well.

I think the idea of random buffers out there isn't the problem. I think the problem is merely a new player not knowing what was going on and didn't appreciate the crap being scared out of him when he saw someone casting a spell in his direction. It's understandable to a point. Now that he's been informed of the magic swirls that are GOOD, then perhaps he won't mind so much.

I've been helped by hostiles and I've been helped by friendlies. I've even had the priviledge of having a hostile party member help me get home alive heh.

If I run across someone in a battle, my first action is to see what they rank as (effortless, moderate, etc). Then I'll ask, "You need help?" If they answer affirmative, I'll help. If they're about to die as they type an answer to me, I'll heal them up to give them the chance to respond.

If I were to run across a very slow walking character, and it was hour 19 of the day, and I had a spare bull's strength lying around, I'd use it on him without asking - simply because I know what it's like to be heavily encumbered. The trip home is mind-numbingly long and to get home before the shops close is always a bonus.

Having thus expressed my droll opinions and rantings, I will now state for all to see - FEEL FREE TO BUFF ME UP ANYTIME!! heh

If someone randomly ran up to me and buffed me.... I think i'd have more friends in this world. If people are nice enough to run by and buff you, then you should be happy. If they urn by and hurt you....well...

damn, can anyone understand difference on this forum? I mean if bongoblue and DV feel like it is rude to be buffed then there's no point in sitting there and trying to make them think like you lol. I totally think it's cool if someone comes up to me and buffs me but it's not like i'm gonna say [censored] like "hey, im gona mess with you cuz u think differently than me".

To answer the first post, i can see what you mean about rudeness but i dont see anything being done about your problem, i mean, if pking is legal i don't think that buffs are going to be under any laws any time soon

Now that souldin is true. I'll respect Bongoblues opinion. ANd i didn't mean to upset DV or bongoblue. Its not like either player has done anything to me that deserves some response in the game by me.

Still saying you'll kill someone on the post is mostly an empty threat. My guess is daltian has no idea who bongoblue or DV plays as. and If my guess is correct DV is a better player the daltian (im taking bets now!) and would whup Daltian. Now....i don't want to start a fight, but remember most posts about killing each other on the forums are empty threats, and they should be treated as such.

If the threat is acted on... then i guess we know that at the worst, you tell the truth
