I know what your suggesting and I tried a couple times and wanted to do it more but the problems are the relics are in the city so therefore you have people that dont care about having them or not getting caught up while shopping, when people are defending the lvl range can be very wide so getting that fine line of challanging but survivable (and not boring) is hard, and last its where new people start so they might just be looking around getting a feel for the layout and BAM some monster comes and kills them. All those would cause xp/gold loss and the times when its a big fight it is impossible to figure out who lost what and how many times.
But I digress that is a problem the DMs have to figure out. Although the planes have moved a lot of players prior to them and now, although less, provided some small rp events that provided a lot of fun. The almost dead scout just making it home to warn of an attack, guards leaving their home to assist with a raid, the ruler of the faction demanding the return of their holy relic, the list goes on. Those have, and are, fun for everyone.

That has happened more than you think. I can't remember who, but we prayed for the God's help once and received aid (I was still LA). To our suprise, when we arrived at Menzoduran we found Sir Pepin with us in the fray. And no, we still failed miserably due to the crack addicts who are on constantly and call SL home (lol, jk. but seriously they're ALWAYS on).JesterOI wrote:Guess I should have clarified, I never seem to do that enough... (You think I would have learned to do so since 90% of people ALWAYS resort to the negative when unsure about stuff, it gets rather sad seeing it all the time...)
From an RP point of view it would be cooler if DM's while on as a DM would dispatch an "elite" group of NPC's to help sway a Relic fight for fun or whatever, rather than relogging to do it.
If they are already on as a player and not a DM, then by all means go and start a ruckus and steal or defend a relic with whatever character they want.

hahahaa ! Yes that is true they are always on...

It's not the level that I'm concerned about, I have no problem fighting (and killing) a lvl40 DM toon as long as they:Metis wrote:Slightly off topic but I have to say something. If a DM has a high lvl on and playing it bothers me to no end hearing people complain.
1.use only items available in the mod to any player (including that nice token that makes you 'become etherial' and +20 weapons that take out a dragon knight in 2 non-crit hits) and
2.have a legally built toon.
I personally would only complian if the above 2 points were not met.
mamba has 2 already.. and i'm well on the way to having 2 as well.. perhaps 4 if I can find some better places to level for lower ac/ab toons ;/I will refrain from going on a rant but if any member of the staff spent half the time playing to get lvls then creating/testing/tweaking/testing again/tweak from community suggestions/test again etc they should have a dozen level 40s.
