Ok - I'm beginning to forget what we're debating here, that's usually a bad sign.

In closing, we are moving the module closer to completion, different people taking different tacks along the way. We're going to try and balance things the best we can given the tools we've got. I personally would like to see more party play happen - it's more fun and probably easier to dev to due to the reasons Elagneros pointed out. However, we recognize that not everybody can play in parties, so we won't make parties a requirement.

However, is it done yet? No. Should final judgement be passed on how we've succeeded with the mod? No. Are we interested in suggestions for improving and balancing the mod? Absolutely.

So, I think I'll spend more time working than spending time debating stuff we probably would all end up agreeing on at the end anyway. :roll:

Gotta remember that time stop affects the entire server. I have spent some time experimenting with the effects, however, in making godly-encounters with frozen-time entrances ... even with the animation of time stop alongside, most people do not recognize it as a deliberate, functional server pause.
But, it's such a draining job that, until you've DMed on an NWN server yourself, you the playerbase, have got to cut the DMs some slack. - Flailer

no way to make time stop an area spell....say a zone or less, useable only with crystals(like ns3.5) dropped off cr30 creatures only, and only useable once every 3-4 minutes real time?

how bout black blade of disaster? dirge for bards?

i will settle for work on the mod itself...gaining areas and creatures.

If you think Dirge doesn't work, that's only because you haven't melee'd against my Bard before ... he would gladly prove otherwise to you, in a most embarassing manner.

Please know the facts before making baseless claims.

i think what would help is if the gear is implemented to epic levels as it it untill lvl 20 it should balance out the server too... like the +4ac gear 20-23, +5 24-28, +6 29-32, +7 33-36, +8 37-40


and ssame with AB bonuses and such, then when rift is added it could be possible to add harder creatures and thus a greater diversity...


it also should keep pvp in check that way...

i have a lvl 18 pure bard and everytime i cast dirge it doesn't do anything to anyone. of course maybe i just don't know how to cast spells.

I've heard others tell me that Dirge didn't work for them, either, but I've never had a bard myself to give it a whirl.

Deathdealer: do not blame your own problem (whatever the cause) on the dev staff...thats all I ask. Dirge works perfectly fine, however, it is not the type one is likely accustomed to. Instead of making an aura, it does a one-time devestating hit of CON/STR/DEX (as shown) to nearby enemies. No save.

There is one server in which they use time stop. The spell focuses in on the area, and you can cast only protection, heal spells, no offensive spells that gives it a twist. They also have dev crit but the formula they do is quite ingenious. The dc on it as follows { DC=10 + char lvl/2 +str modifier}. The assassin is as follows {DC = 10 + assn lvl int modifier}. I play on it and it seems balance for mages and melee's alike. Food for thought. :D

not really blaming my probs on the dev staff......however if there is ever a spell that you can't get to work no matter how many times it is cast the reason usually ends up being the spell was disabled and no one knew about it. its good to know it could work if i actually tried to get it back, but i traded it cuz i couldn't. thanks for letting me know its still around. even if it doesn't work for me.

That's actually a good point. Is there a list somewhere where we can see what has been gimped? I'd be a bit bummed if I was making a build aiming toward dev crit, for instance, only to find that it doesn't work in Neversummer.

I think they should look into what could be done with dev crit .... I know people build pvp mosters around it if left unchecked but maybe bring it back for pure fighters builds .... nerf it a little so on success it knocks down whatever hit on its knees for a few rounds or stuns like the monks stuning fist attack.
