Today we killed Draco twice.

We rolled d100s for gear because we had a large party.

My rolls were as follows:

4, 36, 1, 21

I'm sick of this BS. I just made my 8th attempt at getting Death's Mantle, and didn't get it AGAIN. And now 5 of those 8 attempts it was obtained by someone who was making their FIRST attempt.

Now do you believe me that I have consistently bad luck? The numbers do NOT even out over time. Maybe the DMs are lowering my rolls on purpose.

Seriously, hard work and persistence do NOT pay off in this world.

Oh and the CoT nerf affected pure pallys in a negative way. Pure pallys are already less than "somewhat competitive" so yeah...

Just curious Ade, What color IS the sky in the world you live in? Pally less than competitive? Try a pure rogue. As far as bad luck goes I have been in HoD at least 80 times and I have yet to pull a chanter out of there or a hope crusher. I got the ones I had through borrowing or trading.
But is there a conspiracy? Of course, its us versus them. They hate us and we hate them, makes for a nice little balance.

So confusing... in the other thread you say it's better to start as an underdog and work your way up.

Actually I just nerfed Divine Might and CoTs because I miss Ade's useful feedback... Pure Paladins have never been less than somewhat competitive, you have.

Erm. I never agree to roll anything bigger than d20. Let's use some common sense here. And its just equipment for crying out loud.

There is no great conspiracy to single you out and "get you". The Devs and DMs have more important things to do than to make one player miserable.

Try spending more time enjoying the game for what it is instead of complaining about every single aspect you encounter.

d100's is a great idea I think. Less chance for those obnoxious ties that can slow down loot distribution in large parties.

But, then . . . I may just be enjoying disagreeing with you Ashe. Cuz I like to.

You've tried to get 1 specific piece of gear 8 times and you haven't gotten it yet??? Good heavens!

Re, He's tried 8 times but never under the guise of "Hey friend, Will you help me for a party to go get the Death Mantle from Draco? I've tried 8 times and just am unlucky."

It was fine that you joined us yesterday. But really that was an XP party. I've mentioned this before. You joined us looking for Gear. We were there for XP. You were the only 40 in the group so you hurt our xp. We had too many and thus hurt your odds of getting the one piece of gear that you wanted. I understand why you came and why your frustrated. Just keep trying. I'd give you mine if it would make you happy... but, I assuming you agree that earning a great piece of gear is cooler than the charity. (or am I just dumb *looks at all the gear i'm wearing which was given to me.*)

Get a GEAR run together and go farm gear with a few other 40s. ie. "Oh. You need a Diving Helm? We'll, I'll help you get that if you help me get a Death Mantle... And you want an Ammy of Power? Cool." Start from there.

Joining big group in HOD did nothing but cost me about 5 grand and xp and frustrated you. Please try to make friends and get them to help you. It'll save you time and frustration and you might not even have to roll for the piece you want!! FYI, Almost every time I've partied with you there have been sidebar conversations about booting you. :( Its really hard to make friends when you're constantly complaining in every group. I'll keep trying tho cause that's the way I am.

Best of luck.

Holy Cow Ade!

Enjoy the server, enjoy the game, enjoy the fact that Neversummer is populated with mature, experienced players. I will not be lengthy or redundant in my advice because, quite frankly, Ashe and Glow have already covered it.

I can't help myself,

- You seem to be a thoughtful sort so I'll ask the question....You don't really think the devs and dms are out to get you, do you? I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you are just frustrated.

- You aren't the only player that is not covered in epic gear. One of the better players on the server (Vassarius) still has 25 lvl armor on his cleric.

- Didn't you just join the FON guild? This is a problem that I am quite certain that they could assist you with.

In conclusion, just ask for help when you are logged on the server. I have helped others find uber gear, and I have been helped in kind. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to find someone willing to help you attain a particular item.

I'm sure the evil players that I routinely one-shot aren't thinking that. :P

HoD party: sorry that I hurt your XP the other day. I didn't know I was the only Lv. 40, since the person who invited me said they were in a "37-40" group already.

Sorry for not keeping my frustrations in this thread. I will have to be more mindful...again.

And I do go out of my way to help people all the time. I raise random dead people who I have no obligation to help. I have stopped what I was doing to go raise someone who asked for help in shout several times, as well. I am generous with epic items I find that I have no use for, etc. I get frustrated, but I'm a good person.

I know being good means that one should be good without expecting a reward, but when you're good all of the time and nothing good ever happens to you in turn, it becomes tiresome.

I'm good, I help people, and the only change I've gotten recently is a nerf, albeit an extremely minor one. Then I roll under the mean (ie. rolling under a 10 on a d20) 9 times out of 10.

i have 2 deaths mantles ade, ill give you one if you can manage to be in the same party as me for 30mins and not whine once

PS - not joking, seriously, i dont think you can manage it

hmm, on 2nd thought, that would require having to be in a party with you again...... and youve already stretched my, as you called it, "unlimited patience"

im pretty sure everyone here who's spent anytime with you feels the same, but just wont say it cause they are trying to be nice, but ive tried being nice to ya and that did nothing at all so here it is...

get over yourself, are you seriously that conceited as to think the dms and devs would make mods to the server to screw you over (lol despite linux's ealier post), they have better things to do

you keep throwing around these wild conspiracy theories all the time, its ridiculous, youve been on the server for what, a month now? you really dont have a clue.

all ive ever seen you do is whine to everyone, are you suprised noone wants to help you anymore, everyones tried to help you, offering build advice, gear advice, telling you about areas, trying to cheer you up, explaining servers rules and changes etc and all youve done is throw it in their face or basically tell them they are idiots and that you already know better.

are you seriously suprised that the str based human pure paly you made doesnt kill everyone and everything on the server with ease?? if it did, dont you think there would be more than 6-8 pure pallies on this server

you obviously dont enjoy it here and are determined to make sure noone around you does aswell, maybe you should leave, do something you do enjoy......

END RANT
The truth is just an excuse for those with a lack of imagination.
