My mage is lvl 33 pure classed atm and has +44 fort save vs spells.

He has a 15% chance to be nuked by a current lvl 39 maxed out Implosion.

My lvl 29 multiclassed melee has +39 fort save vs spells UNBUFFED and NOT using the best gear.

That's a 40% chanced to be nuke by a caster that is 10 (TEN) levels over him. He has a greater chance of surviving than the character that is TEN levels over him has of succeeding.

DM easy kill button? I think not.

Forgive me, but you're misinterpretting the Epic Spell DC. That DC is specifically reffering to "Epic Spells", such as Greater Ruin, and Hellball, since their previous DC was no greater than that of a fully focused 9th level spell.
Serving NS4 proper as Lathander and Sleeth as Bahamut.

Yes, I'm a DM, but your build still sucks.

Epic Warding > +8 weapons
Pure Save classes > UBer DC saves.

sounds to me everyone wants the server to keep everyone level and on a even playing field rather than make u have a batter build.

AND dare i say it mabey you will have to play a PURE class to reap these bonouses.

Premonition blows? then go pure caster and get epic warding.

CRAZY dc on Implode? noting a little SR cant fix. Unless there pure... then they SHOULD have a boost.

Meleers have it the best right now. Pure fighters have insane abilities and barbs can do a whole lot.

People complain about keeping the build being the main focous and this has just done that.

U dont want to get pwned by mad DC saves go make a pali, or a BG Right now with everything staying how it is a level 40 cleric cant implode anything unless its lower level than them.

And why punish the people who allways farm to get there gear? if u dont want to too bad. u have the ability.

WHAT turned me away from ns was the constant complaining about crap then once it gets fixed there is more upset people.

Just go play.

Nice Work Devs ill have to take a break from wow again and come back aand test out some of these new things.

actually i hate the entire "save or instantly die" concept for spells and effects. it sucks in two ways:

1. if you make the save then the caster's 9th level spell or whatever is wholly wasted. WASTED.
2. if you fail the save then you instantly are slain no matter what game over pack it up go home yankee.

but that's just a general D&D rant. :)

(i'd much prefer a system where if you fail the save really bad stuff happens but you dont instantly die, and even if you make the save something fairly bad happens)

1. casters don't *have* to use death spells. it's their choice.
2. chill, it's not like you have to reroll your character. just respawn.

Also theres a spell called Death Ward, cleric only but you must be insane to not have one in your party. The only spell that bypasses Death Ward is Implosion, which is a level 9 spell like Wail of the Banshee. Unlike Wail of the Banshee, it can only target one person total within a small range. To compensate for this, the devs made it bypass Death Ward.

whoa.. I didn't mean to sound confrontational. I don't think this idea is especially suited to nwn (where combat is resolved quickly and there IS a respawn button).

it's just been a problem in the higher level pen and paper campaigns I've been part of (total party kill or cakewalk... let one dice roll decide). stuff like this is probably why almost every pen/paper campaign I've come across rarely goes beyond 10th level or so.

just a thought.

And I thought Bioware changed it two patches ago :). But then it could affect the caster too *chuckle*. The Devs changed it to one target only though.

D&D campaigns that don't go beyond lvl 10? Never been in one. Currently we have 2 campaigns going, one is at lvl 17, the other at lvl 13-16(this dm kills players often).

In both campaigns we are planning on getting into the epic levels.

you will understand why he has never been past 10th in a pnp after you kid comes around yoda. once you have a family or your gaming group conists of people with familys, and tight jobs, its hard to find time to get togeather and game. i have been in 1 in 10 years of pnp that has reached epic level, and shortly there after it stopped.

what is a dm to do with 7 23+ lvl toons running about.
