Personally I think you guys are crazy.

Firstly I'll distinguish ahead of time - I am not a DM, but a Dev on this server, however I interract with the DMs all the time - we all, as a team, spend our free time making NS4 better for you all.

If you want to go ahead and scream DM abuse evey 2 seconds then do so, but guess what - those DMs are people too. If you think that ruining their enjoyment of this mod and ensuring that they never interract with you guys at all will make things better for you then just carry on as you are.

By holding these BS "trial by forum" threads I guess you feel that you will somehow benefit in game. I guess you think that if you give one DM enough abuse he or she will stop enforcing the rules just to avoid having to take all the crap from you. All you are going to do is remove any understanding from the process when problems are resolved and that means you'll just get instant warnings, boots and bans for your trouble intsead of a wolf with UV (or whatever). The DMs can choose to 'send a message' in a number of different ways and you are forcing them into a corner where they will have to rule with an iron fist as far as I can see.

If a DM is running an event that you don't want to be a part of then let them know and I'm sure they'll port you. If you don't want to be in the event you can be 100% sure they don't want you in it.

If a DM is giving wolves UV guess what, maybe it's a message that you KNOW you are in a grey area of the rules. Who cares if the rules are not exactly tailored to this exact latest exploit of the server you've found. You know you shouldn't be in FD at level 4, they know you shouldn't be in FD at level 4. If you lose a bit of XP from getting that message who cares. You've been raping the xp in that area and you shouldn't have been there in the first place. I guess the DM could have decided to set your XP to 6000 again (level 4), but he didn't. In fact the UV thing is about the most player-friendly way of I can think of for handling this. Directly asking you to just stop never works with anything - we have to code the fixes or there is always someone who'll try to take advantage. You know - the kind of people who make sure they are always aware if the DMs are on.

DMs have to try to keep things fair and balanced for everyone. If they see you taking advantage and they haul you up on it accept that their action may not seem to be beneficial to you that exact second, but it maybe beneficial to the playerbase as a whole (of which you are a part!). Always remember that someone else who is exploiting tomorrow will receive the same treatment you just did and that IS benefitting you directly even if you don't know about it. That player is no longer getting unfair advantage over all the others (including you!) from something you don't know about.

When the Relic system was launched, as you know, logging in next to the cradle was allowed. However after observing this for a while I made a no log in zone around each cradle to stop multiple high levels logging in right on the cradle just to defend.
When this update first went live some SL players tried to do the 'login defense' and were ported a few maps away as would any faction member doing the same thing after the update.
They immediately started spamming the shout channel with instant accusations of DM abuse, DM favouritism, DM this, DM that.
Just one example of the kind of behaviour that is just completely ridiculous.

I think you should all be ashamed of yourselves. The DMs give you their time and all they seem to be getting back at the moment is crap from the very people who benefit from thier efforts. Nice way to say thank you.

no shame here.... i am an okie......this server was a great server til you guys made DM's outta everybody with a passport or SSN. And what is this about events? I never saw DM's do anything but crawl peoples butts about stuff on this server...... It was a lot of fun before. Now it is not. Maybe there just shouldn't be so many DM's ..... or maybe you should have DM's that are worth a cuss. You have DM's that used to get be in clans that were hostile to people that still play. It just appears that people are starting to leave the server. DM's don't have a purpose without players. And if you want a server of total noobs with no competition and fun, then keep doing things the way you are. And i still haven't figured out how using darkness is an exploit. Couldn't a caster do the same thing? So why all the talk about Drow? And DM's should let people know how long a ban should be......it was 24 hrs, then the next day i got rebanned and that was a week or so ago. I think you DEVS dont' know about how the DM's are..... most of what you hear is just what they tell you.....and i know from experience that it is a very biased version.

Well, all I can say is that the DM's and the Dev's run the show - it's "their house" as it were. If you don't like the way things are done, it begs the question of why are you still here?

Because the drow darkness is mobile, and lasts a lot longer than even extended darkness when casted. Being constantly surrounded by the darkness give the player a pretty big advantage against mobs, especially at low level.

nd mabey you will realize that the server you are vbuilding and putting so much work into would be alot better if dms werent jerks behind the scenes

Things happen to other people, not just your precious KST, you guys are nothing special. I have been corrected and/or killed when I do things in the 'grey area' or even if someones having fun, I've been sent to the DM lounge place for things. Have fun with it, you don't make the rules.

If everyone liked the same thing there would not be different servers, as a player this is the best world I have ever played in.

As much as I am tempted to keep fighting on this I will just say *repeat* not everyone likes the same thing, to me this is the absolute best server I have seen and without any need for haks! If you still want to visit somewhere else that is fine but I think putting it on this forum shows very poor taste. I wish you well on another place and even though you may not believe it I hope you have fun playing the game. We are people, with different tastes but anyone who has visited NS4 is instantly hooked it is a place built with a ton of time and dedication

To you new people coming in I can almost guarantee you will love it here and be hooked within ten seconds, to havok and his 6 friends I am sorry you are leaving but I do hope you have fun wherever you end up.

You're mad because a DM cast some UV on wolves to block your powerleveling? Can't say I sympathize much. I'd rather see the DMs block munchkiny powerleveling than the devs make something in the server harder for everyone else.

And while I suspect that the DMs have occasionally tossed an extra monster or two my way or something, I've never seen any examples of player persecution targeted at me. Heck, I even got a res from a DM before that I wasn;t expecting while I was waiting for one of my guild members to drop by and help me out. So it's not like they have a secret agenda against the players or something.
