Re: Marathon Event
ok here's a dumb question. how are we going to xfer stuff? are we allowed to bring the mules to the lvling area?
this is for people who don't double box or who won't be in a guild so unable to access the map reset immune containers

are we allowed to make our characters in game ahead of time as long as we don't get any exp on them? I was thinking of making mine and loading him up with the gear he needs so I never even have to visit a mule.

I thought I covered this one.Twiggy wrote:ok here's a dumb question. how are we going to xfer stuff? are we allowed to bring the mules to the lvling area?
I'll clarify this a bit better. I'll announce when a break starts, then I'll create an unstable portal to Avendell. How you do your xfers once your in Avendell is up to you. Just remember, when the time limit is up the portal will close, and anyone not making it back through the portal before it closes is out of the event.Ghostly wrote:Like in any marathon, they have 30 minute breaks. I can create an unstable portal to Avendell, that should give players enough time to travel to their guild mules and re-gear, and get back
lol, good question. I expected that one from the players, not Tep. I don't remember saying the DM's would. So... If a players die, its up to the other players in party to rez them. If they can't, then the players will have to respawn. and wait until a DM ports them back to the event area.Amoenotep wrote: if they die who rez's them?

if i didn't do it... someone else would have...
Re: Marathon Event
I suggest that one needs to either carry all gear they need, or have someone else do it for them. This means that STR toons (more likely to die) won't be totally ignored.

Re: Marathon Event
I for one am bringing a cleric and expect to do a lot of raising and rezing.. ive already stock piled serious supplies for this. And I doubt I will be the only cleric.
For those not in a guild, I would recomend find a marathon buddy, someone to help you transfer if you dont have a guild hall to help. Then you can return the same favor. The key is to have your gear ready so it takes but a minure or two to transfer. 30 minutes is a good ammount of time, if your prepared. Only issue I can foresee, is during the early lvls when everyone in buying store bought.. but so long as someone doesnt intentional tie up a merchant, that too should go well. Might even be good to have that gear pre purchashed, in the event of a lame prankster, holding the merchants from use. There will be no drops to id or sell, so it should be quick.

Re: Marathon Event
I am up for this event.. although, can we push it back until 2 weeks after last bloodsport? 3 big event weekends in a row is ok, but 4 would be pushing it... need a weekend break from events (spouse)

Re: Marathon Event
Two points that came to me as I tried to sleep.
-When a toon hits forty they should drop out, so that it doesnt further limit the toons that chose and ecl race.
-Multi-boxing, for gear transfers its very convientant, but should we allow people to get two or more 40's out of this event, thats likly to be quite crowded already?
If we do change the date, lets do it sooner than later so can reinform all the people that dont check the forum offten or ever. atm we looking at September 4th, the skinny rat (Weasel) is sugesting September 11th.

Re: Marathon Event
Breaks at all the upgrade lvls might get a little hectic.
Breaks at 5,9,13,16,20,25,30, and 35 might not be so hot.
Consider taking breaks at 10, 20, and lastly 30? Combine this with players reaching lvls 10, 20, and 30, dropping out until all others have caught up with them, and then begin the break.
This will allow players who might want to read a book, or books, at lvls 10, and 20, to do so, as well as narrow any xp/lvl gap.
My thanks to Brandobaris for offering to host this event. I don't envy him this task.

Re: Marathon Event
I've got a build for this event but requires books, an Int book in particular, and will need the extra skill pts. Would it be ok if i lvled it to 10 or so, used the books i plan to then take it back down to lvl 1 (i'll try to get as close to 0 exp as possible) and have it ready for the event? ...as long as its lvl 1 with near 0 exp?
Re: Marathon Event
Don't think an actual date was set in the first place. Just "sometime after the bloodsport events"Shadowalker wrote:lets do it sooner than later so can reinform all the people that dont check the forum offten or ever.

why don't u create a build that doesn't need books?
or make the toon then make sure it has 0 xp. it was stated we could make the toons in advance, what you do with it up to that point is up to you. Unless they are gonna check our stats to make sure everyone has the appropriate amount i don't think anyone is gonna notice if u do that. But everyone should be on the same page. level one with no xp is how everyone is gonna start

*looks at ShadowKain account date* Curious... I think I'm gonna let the other's who've agreed to play in the event decide.Twiggy wrote:ShadowKain wrote:I've got a build for this event but requires books, an Int book in particular, and will need the extra skill pts.
