Also the reset isnt at a regular intervial, like every 4 hours.. so unless you note the times for an entire day and list them out, you can still get caught.

Re: Prize Room! (A suggestion)
if you were in the prize room when a reset happened wouldn't you just log back into the prize room? if that's true why code against it. the worst that would happen would be that a person would have to change their armor again. or continue to dwell etc.
and if you made it token based, specifically so that i could pass it to my favorite character, why wouldn't you just make it allowable to pass them to anyone if i prefer. i mean if i want to give my prize room token to a brand new player as a means of recruiting why wouldn't that be allowed?
i like this idea. i hope its not hard and that you guys decide to do it.

Thats the beauty of it. Its NOT a difficult change like a dev has already stated it would simply be creating a small object with an "action/jump to" property.Chernobyl_Glow wrote:i like this idea. i hope its not hard and that you guys decide to do it.

I do agree that regulating its use by restricting it to the likes of avendale or frostdale rift shard areas will keep it from being abused in pvp or for the purpose of escape from high level areas.
Someone expressed concern that this might depretiate the value of such thing gained through the prize room. And I have to say I feel strongly that the outcome will in fact be the very opposite. Once people are done tweaking their builds so that they have created their version of "The Ultimate" character and what not, whats left but to trick them out to make them look as Elite and Unique as possible.
Also like glow said, perhaps gifting to another player as a means to recruit or make friends. Currently books are the ultimate commodity. These tokens could as very well be as sought after as said books and traded widely amongst the player base.
Then at least when you park your mule who happens to have wings it doesnt seem like such a waste as your main character continues on looking very drab and unoriginal.
Re: Prize Room! (A suggestion)
how about make them tradable but make different teleporters require different amounts of tokens meaning can save up for better rewards.

No, the scripting is conceptually simple. Doesn't mean it's not a PITA to do, debug and test lol.

My prior server ran this way.. when ever you were involved in DM events from single to groups.. you got one or more quest points (tokens). Then you could at your leasure turn them in for access to a variet of chests.. 3 point chest, 5 point, 10, 20, etc. the chest had gear that didnt drop in the Mod.DM-Baccob wrote:how about make them tradable but make different teleporters require different amounts of tokens meaning can save up for better rewards.
I like the benign prise room gifts that are currently availible. Since the Mod itself is much more challenging to get high lvl sought after items.

No, when server resets you log back to where you were ported from. This happened to me during the illithid event and again when the DM ported us from IoD to Prize Room a minute before server reset so that we would all come back to the same spot in IoD after reset.Chernobyl_Glow wrote:if you were in the prize room when a reset happened wouldn't you just log back into the prize room?
Again, I maintain that if changes are made to a token form, then the character that earned the token be the one that gets to use the token and no one else. The character that participated in the event. S/he earned it, not your alts.

I did that, on purpose and laughed and laughed as people rushed the reward givers, much mirth for all the divine observersLunarSquirrel wrote:..when server resets you log back to where you were ported from.
