anyway. Its not the faction its the players. If DD and IO decided to pick up and go to another faction we would hold as much relics as we do now.
This is such a load of crap.
I remember when LA used to dominate everything and I don't see the same players now playing in SL.
Things change over time. You're used to playing as one faction and if you changed up you wouldn't instantly become proficient with the new faction. You're not gods, and you will fall someday.
Ade, you are obviously a simpleton to have missed that point.
LA dominated because they had....yep, that's it players. Well, most of them no longer play here or do not play in the same faction for whatever reason.
And LA didn't dominate "everything" it went back and forth when IO was running strong out of MA. Well, now IO and DD are running strong out of SL so the players quote still holds.
And it doesn't matter what faction is played when you have an experienced core of players for the simple fact that most of DD and IO are running with builds that can be played in most factions. Sooooo, no learning curve there.
Lastly, nobody claimed to be a god and we all fall occasionally.
Bottom line is this experienced player + teamwork + numbers = domination
Wizard SDs in almost every faction?!?!? You mean RK/SL/MA ie SL and ally or the dorfs who can do it all, I will give you the 1/2 of factions on that one. It doesnt seem quite fair to say can be done in every faction when its you and your allies though.
I will agree though its all in the numbers, which get calculated even stranger when you account for dual-logging. YOU try running a wizard to do damage (and not die) at the same time as youre running the cleric raising and healing EVERYONE. Not as easy as you would think.
Yeah really, stop making SL characters. It is now to the point, in order to get some real PvP the DM's (Dm cronies are included) are making monky/PM's to keep things interesting. ( a bit of an exaggeration since Punks with No Direction have been making a showing). Half of DD was on reflections before that imploded. IO was almost the sole occupants of MA before this wipe. Most IO before that were on reflections. So we are used to being the underdogs. Besides, people have a tendency to gravitate towards a winning side (the whole survival thing).
So start winning some and maybe you can convert some of the horde, not! People like to be evil, it is so much easier than being good and less work too.

We did, and it feels great a year or so later!

gotta say i think we are having the best pvp run i've ever seen on this server. lots of intense and closely fought conflicts involving all kinds of builds.

I didn't intend to come off like we were gods. I've played many factions over the years and usually the underdog (which SL was when i joined some 8 months ago) . That fact is 80% of DD/IO have played here 3+years and have played all the factions and are talented builders. And there are many very talented builders in other factions and are great Foe's and appreciate them for their skills. And to say SL is a bandwagon is a little OTT. Our ranks arent swelling by anymeans. DD hasnt taken any new members in a long time and alot of the new IO's dont even pvp as of yet. Looking at the player list in non-prime hours its pretty obvious people dont like playing SL. LA had alot of good builders and alot of dual loggers that spent alot of time online and alot of Lemmings as we used to like to call them. When AO ruled the relic war it was 4 Slaves and 4 DCN's usually only 3 on at any time and we did just fine. I dont mean to get into a history lesson here but its just Relics!! There is plenty on this server to do besides them and to tell ya the truth because SL is minding the war we get less time to do other things and thats the trade off.
And agreed this weekend we had some awesome pvp!! Those Summoner PMs were out of control lol!!
And Good fights to you NC'rs my eyes always burn when i see yer Divine glowing bodies running at me. CoT nerf or not you guys rock!! Hats off to you RK'rs and yer legendary stubborness! And finally AO my old homelands, glad to see someone's still cleaning the cobwebs out of that rock.
Goodfights All!

All the talk of pvp is exciting, and the server not dying is even better. We on the staff are pleased to hear this, and will do what we can to keep you players encouraged to engage in even more pvp.
The lag is an issue that we are well aware of, and work is in progress to bring the lag down.
p.s. :MtainEer, what do you think? Do you still feel the same?

Funny you say that, since I believe I saw one the other day. Monky speed, stunning fist, immune to crit. Sounds like a monky/PM to me. Strange thing was I haven't seen that login before and he was stomping other 40's, so if he wasn't a 40 he was damn close.
