persistant storage is different from the anvil. the anvil isn't storage (even though alot of players seem to think so). the anvil resets an item to the default db entry so that bugged/wrong items can be hopefully replaces with working items. which means if you stick a unique artifact in the anvil..it gets replaced with the original version.

Any chance an Item will reset upon disarm?

I *think* no.... I remember fixing an issue a long time ago where if you were disarmed you'd lose the itemproperty glow effect from the prize room. If that fix is still working then you should be fine. And as you probably already know, not all artifacts are weapons.

Has there still been an issue of altered items going back to default state after being disarmed?

I haven't heard of it happening since the fix. I was just curious if it was something to worry about.

Once the item is identified, will a mouse over of the title of the item say (unique), or will that information be found in the detailed item description?

Linux ran the numbers a little earlier and the settings are a wee bit off. I forget the specific factor scarcer they are than +4 books, but you'd better be sitting down if Linux reveals it here :)

When changed depends on a number of things, sometime this weekend is certainly possible.

How about a clue?

Can they show up in any CR drop?

I, for one, would hope they don't show up only in areas where +4 books drop.

any equippable item in the mod no matter what area has the % chance to be turned into an artifact item

I found (unique) Gnoll Mystic Plate. It had 10% cold immunity as well as the usual 10% fire immunity.

Very balanced.

I hope to see others post their finds.
