random chance for me so far has been like 40% which seems way too high. i would think something like 3-5% would be ok. i mean they aren't free i burned through 60 k trying to make two trips from elvenshire to garagoth. i don't mind a small random chance. and maybe you have it higher on the concept "launch" and intend to lower it once more players are aware. That's cool. But seriously, why are they there if not to make travel easier. so you put them there then make them pointless? aetheria is huge. now we can't even depend on reliable travel? it just got a lot bigger.

just trying to understand the point of the change. my thoughts are that since this is a pvp server and that each change you put effort into should encourage or enable pvp. this one doesn't fit.

my experience has been that while i was running to get involved in pvp i got dropped in the yaun-ti wastes. then again in the old town north. if the objective of the change is to discourage use of dragons while carrying relics then i'm totally on board. a suggestion would be reduce the random chance for all and then make relic runners pay 5x. or increase their random chance. though i still think this decreases pvp encounters because interceptors cannot depend on the opponent carrying a relic to arrive in beryn.

i guess my point is that while this is a neat change (sort of) that all that it accomplishes regarding pvp is to take people out of it when you fall off.

maybe i misunderstand your objective though.

if this was put in because of the relic game, just make it easy. no relics on dragons lol, make those raiders work for it lol. or like glow said, make the raider pay like 5x the normal price as a hazard pay for the dragon to get involved with this relic war.

Glow.. you may just have a Dragon Allergy... or perhaps they are allergic to you and you fall when they sneeze...

In my previous post.. 9 lowbie toons took the dragon one after the other.. only 1 fell off..

I like it thus far.. between the daily take over of lands near Av and the radon dragon drop.. it will certaily 'encourage/necessitate' exploration of perhaps new areas.

I believe the concern was that with the dragons nobody was exploring the rest of the world. Dragon travel makes it easy to skip over some of the areas that devs worked so hard on long ago that now they have the chance to drop you in some of them so that you are forced to explore a little. Just my take on it. This might not have anything to do with the relics or PvP. Although it would make it kinda neat to make the chance of slipping increases if you have a relic. Those things are so big and clunky it would just act like a sail and make holding on that much more difficult. hehe.

I agree on lowering the chance when you are not carrying a relic.

As far as the relic war goes, it changes everyones tactic of ambushing the locations since now you can fall off anywhere. The raider actually can have a better chance of getting the relic home if the defenders are expecting the raider to apear in beryn and he falls off somewhere else. Interesting concept to look at using......

Yes, and when you fall instant death. how do you expect to fall from a dragons flight height and only take a bit of damage?
