1) Fewer people in SL would make me happy, assuming it leads to more pvpMtainEer wrote:1) Players being bored from no pvp action due to others leaving or everyone joining their side.

Let's make the Shadow Legion as strong as possible.
1) Well, we are evil so let's take care of those champion of torm's...check.
2) Let's give assassins a form of hips that they should not otherwise have...check.
3) Let's make sure we got the best skills improved...+4 disp, hide, move silently, spot, listen, ect....check.
4) We have to strip all shifter's/druids from the real true seeing....check.
5) Those paladin's are to fast, let's remove their horse...check.
6) You know, those barbarians may still terrying rage use...no problem, we'll lower that to...check.
7) Let's nerf hips but not the assassins form since its different...in progress.
Ok, now everyone hold hands together and either join the Shadow Legion or leave like I am.
Forever walks away from the powers that be in this forsaken land,

2) The devs are attempting to make balanced pvp server, DnD pnp isn't balanced, nwn isn't balanced, ns is closer and in my opinion as a general trend continues to approach balance more and more closely.
responses to SL rant
1) CoTs were too good. The first toon I rolled post wipe was a CoT (went neutral cleric over pally to get gith subrace and to dodge BG smites), and I know multiple members of ::DD:: who have CoTs for farming planar gear.
2) Nwn assassins are lame, the paralyze is easily negated, and in my opinion as is, the class is too 1 dimensional (ie really high int and crap ab and a prayer that you actually hit and they roll low enough to fail the save, otherwise you are toast once out of stealth, assuming you weren't spotted earlier). The love the devs gave assassins is needed, though not sufficient to convince me to roll one. Equating etherealness with hips is a pretty big leap.
3) We don't get a bonus to listen, and the bonus to disc is only +2 if I am reading my sheet right. I personally think our jobs rewards are pretty much inline with the other factions, though AO is shafted, and I would trade for NC rewards in a heartbeat.
4) Bioware trueseeing is crazy good, on a server where immunity items and permahaste don't exist I don't really see it as having a place, especially since it isn't available to all factions (just like svirf got keen senses so RK wasn't left out of spotter builds).
5) I would love for pallies to have mounts, I wanted to roll a pally after wipe myself, but the log clearly stated that horses were being watched because of lag, and the timestop effect ruined pvp. I forsee them being removed from pve personally, no one likes lag.
6) Everyone failed it before, most everyone will still fail it now, since I haven't seen any of the pure barbs (all 3 of them?) complaining I don't see the big deal /shrug.
7) They are looking at HiPs, while I don't know exactly what they have in store, I suspect it will gut the melee builds that spam it for sneak attack damage. I still think it will be a good escape/breather mechanism for melee and I don't see caster/ranged builds being very much affected as they tend to utuilize entire rounds of play out of stealth.
Misc comments:
CoTs were too good in the sense that almost every build in NC is a CoT, there is very little diversity. If the NC build options are too weak without the crazy CoT there is no doubt in my mind that they (the NC faction) will get some love.
Double damage on divine might was a little too good, I myself told people in game that I would make that a pure pally bonus only (and 30 cot) if I had any say in the development process. Hope you get what you want deathdancer.
Why SL has the vast majority of the SDs I don't know (where were the 2x divine might sd's? I would so have been rocking that), but as korr said, SL will be hit hardest by the sd nerf which I have no doubt is coming and will utterly destroy some of the more abusive tactics which we and others employ (looks towards melencia....).
As far as what is the CoT weakness, forcing flatfootedness seemed to work best, most easily achieved by blindness, so please keep rolling non-SR races with tendencies towards vision impairments
